19th Inter Amity Institutions Sports Meet “Sangathan 2017 concludes with Founders Day Celebrations at Amity
19th Inter Amity Institutions Sports Meet “Sangathan 2017” commemorating Founders Day, concluded today with the felicitation of winners in almost 40 Sports events at University Campus,Sector-125, Noida.
Thousands of students from all National and International Campuses of Amity enthusiastically participated in various sports events including Swimming, Tennis, Badminton, Tug- of war, Football, Hockey,Volleyball, Chess, Squash and Shooting.
The event commenced with an impressive and well-coordinated March Past by 172 marching contingents from Amity International Schools, Amitasha (School for underprivileged girls), Atulasha(School for underprivileged boys), Amity Universities and Amity Dog Training Academy located across India and abroad. The perfectly synchronized students in the contingents evinced confidence, determination, fortitude reminding the audience of the soldiers marching ahead to prove their mettle and take the world head one. The contingentfrom Amity International School, Noida was declared “Best Marching Contingentin the Juniors’ Category” and Amity Institute of Education, Delhi emerged asthe “Best Marching Contingent in the Seniors’ Category.
The Sports Captains of Amity Law School, Amity School of Engineering and Technology, Amity Centre for Commerce and Finance and Amity Institute of Biotechnology lit the Sangathan Flame.
Addressing the gathering and presenting a summary of Sangathan 2017, Prof. Kalpana Sharma, Chairperson,Organizing Committee, Sangathan – 2017 stated that Amity has provided conducive environment for the holistic growth of its students and Sangathan is true reflection of Dr. Ashok K Chauhan’s vision and dedication to make India a “Superpower” by 2030. She shared that Sangathan aims to nurture positive energies in students, faculty members and staff of Amity, thereby motivating them towards excellence. She highlighted that during Sangathan, over 40 Sports events were organized for boys and girls, 12 for faculty and staff in various Campuses of Amity and more than 1,000 matches were conducted in Amity University, Noida Campus. She shared that the Vintage Games played as part of two month long Sangathan witnessed a roaring success, bringing forth the grit ,determination, sportsmanship, leadership and other virtues in the students.
Congratulating the students on exemplary performance, Dr. Ashok K Chauhan- Founder President, Amity Group stated that Amity students are different and unique and Sangathan brings out their talents and potential. Dr. Chauhan remarked that every Amitian is groomed to contribute significantly to the growth and development of the country. He shared that very soon Amity would have Campus in each and every State of thecountry and in every country of the world and expressed his conviction that all Amitians will lead the country to unparalleled heights.
The bright, young toddlers of Amiown, donned in colorful attires, presented a beautiful and endearing medley of dance and aerobics.
Amitasha- a school run under Amity Humanity Foundation for underprivileged girls, presented a melodious song.
During the occasion, a book titled -“Our Green Guardians- Campus Flora at Amity University Noida” and a book and calendar titled “Jewels of Nature- Butterflies and Moths sited at Amity University,Noida Campus” were released by Dr. Ashok K Chauhan, Dr. Amita Chauhan-Chairperson, Amity International Schools, Dr. Atul Chauhan, Dr. Aseem Chauhan-Chancellor, Amity University, Rajasthan, Ms. Sapna Chauhan- Vice Chairperson, Amiown, Ms. Pooja Chauhan- Vice Chairperson, Amity Humanity Foundation, Mr. Anmol Chauhan and Ms. Divya Chauhan- Chairperson, Amity School of Fashion technology and Amity School of Fine Arts.
The ceremony witnessed the felicitation of over 1300 students and 144 Faculty and Staff members for their exemplary display of sportsmanship and skills.
Amity Law School Noida lifted the Winner’s Trophy of Sangathan 2017 with 17 Gold Medals, 15 Silver Medals and 09 Bronze Medals; Amity School of Engineering and Technology was declared the First Runners Up with 18 Gold Medals, 11 Silver Medals and 12 Bronze Medals.Amity College of Commerce and Finance was declared Second Runners Up with 05 Gold Medals, 06 Silver Medals and 3 Bronze Medals.
Dr. Atul Chauhan, President RBEF & Chancellor AUUP declared the Sangathan 2017 closed.
Also present during the occasion were Mr. Anand Chauhan- Trustee RBEF, Mr. Ajay Chauhan- Trustee, RBEF, Vice Chancellors of Amity Universities located across India and abroad and several other dignitaries.
