“Indian coaches should embrace the new global coaching trends” avers Technical Director, AIFF during two day SAI-AIFF International Football Coaching Conference (IFCC-2017) at Amity

Topromote football in India, Amity School of Physical Education and SportsSciences (ASPESS) in association with All India Football Federation (AIFF) andSports Authority of India (SAI) organized two day “Sports Authority of India -All India Football Federation International Football Coaching Conference(IFCC-2017) which concluded today at Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Sector125, Noida Campus

 

Theaim of the two day conference was to promote and support Youth Development andTalent Hubs through Coach Education and Scientific Support for the FootballPlayers

 

Theobjectives of the conference was to promote Football Coaches through ScientificCoach Education, to exchange  knowledge in the field of coaching andallied areas, to enhance the flow of knowledge between the Scientists and thecoach fraternity, to bridge the gap between academia and coaching throughscientific publication, to disseminate knowledge about the standards,initiatives and successful Football related experiments done by variousprofessionals and to explore opportunities to collaborate and promote knowledgeand technical advancements in the sport of Football.

 

Addressingthe gathering, Mr. Karim Bencherifa, Head Coach, Morocco National Teamsaid that after years of experience, coaching style evolves. He further addedthat with time, coaches learn lots of new elements but it is important todevelop your own style of coaching including tailored made straining strategyas per the team players.

 

Speakingabout sports sciences and its application in football, Mr. Tom Joel, firstTeam Sports Scientist, Leicester City Football Club said that sportsscience is a growing concept that focuses on understanding the enhancement ofhuman forms. He apprised that sports scientists should work with athletes toprovide scientific support in preparation for competition in sync with sportscoaching.  He mentioned that the role of sports science department is tohelp reduce the sports injury occurrence, improving physical strength andoverall performance of players. He further talked about the need for researchto find out the reasons for injury occurrence during the games and recoveringsteps.

 

Sharinghis views, Mr. Savio Maderia, Acting Technical Director, AIFF advisedthe Indian coaches to inculcate the knowledge, gained during the conference, inthe training sessions of players. He emphasized that Indian coaching educationneeds to be changed and shouldn’t be monotonous. The coaches should embrace thenew global coaching trends to create a world class football team.

 

Duringthe two day Conference, numerous key speakers from Global and Indian footballcommunity including Mr. Steven Martin, Technical Division Support, FootballAssociations, Belgium, FIFA Representative; Philippe Troussier, Former FrenchFootballer, Coaching Director, Chongquinglifan Professional Club; and Mr.Yamauchi Takafumi, Coach Education Director, Japan Football Associationamongst others deliberated upon various topics such as “India at the Momentvis-à-vis the world”, “Leadership style to meet the challenges of Indianfootball” “Sports Sciences” and “Systematic Player Development”.
