Amity School of Fashion Technology organized a Talk by Professor. Jon Jicha from School Of Art And Design at Western Carolina University, USA at University Campus,Sector-125, Noida.
Prof.Jon Jicha teaches design and media arts and has exhibited his work IN exhibitions including Brno Biennale, Kathleen Ewing Gallery,Society of Publication Designers/New York. His work has been featured in Metropolis Magazine, Print Magazine, Art Direction Magazine and National Geographic Magazine. He has curated and organized major exhibitions including Tibor Kalman: Process; April Greiman. Jicha's work is included in private and public collections including the Library of Congress, Washington, DC; Coburg Museum, Bavaria, Germany; Littleton Collection, Spruce Pine, NC; South Carolina Arts Commission Collection, Columbia, SC.
Prof. Jon Jicha presented his own creative work to the students and also displayed some exemplary work of his own students. He also discussed about the relevance of Portfolio development for Art & design students. He focused on the relevance of a functional well designed Portfolio in digital and print format
Prof Jicha enlightened the students about the prospects in the global art & design students .He interacted with the students about the different career options and the related knowledge, skills and potentials required for excelling in this ever changing industry.He also elaborated on the career opportunities for art& design students internationally. He explained about the close association between art & design
Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Joshi, who is the motivation behind the visits of these industry experts, was also present at this occasion and stressed upon the need for a well- designed and structured portfolio
The students listened intently and interacted excitedly during the session. They had several queries about the international scenario in art & design.
