Delegation from Queensland University, Australia visits Amity to strengthen the existing association between the two Institutions
A thirteen member Delegation from the University of Queensland, Australia visited Amity University, Sector-125, Noida to explore areas for strengthening the existing partnership with Amity.
University of Queensland, Australia is ranked amongst the top 50 Universities of the world and Amity University has an ongoing partnership with this prestigious University. The visit was an outcome of the existing agreement and one in a series of activities to plan further time bound actions and also to examine the ways in which to further expand the scope of the partnership between the two Institutions.
Welcoming the distinguished members of the Delegation, Prof. (Dr.) Gurinder Singh-Amity Group Vice Chancellor said that Amity is privileged to share an association with University of Queensland, Australia and the partnership has been strengthened with every passing year. He shared that Amity University and University of Queensland, Australia shared several commonalities including focus on Research. He stressed that world needs brilliant research scholars and proposed that Amity and University of Queensland can come together to offer Joint PhD programmes, which will add to the rankings of the both the Universities and to their research quotient. He suggested that both the Universities can initiate Internship Abroad Programmes which would encourage students from both the Universities especially in the areas of Engineering,Psychology and Management to gather hands on experience in a global set-up.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Alison Jenkins, Director UQ International Marketing,Recruitment & Admissions stated that University of Queensland,Australia is serious about its linkages with India and with Amity and wants to strengthen and deepen the relationship with Amity. She expressed that University of Queensland wants to their partnership with Amity to next level especially in areas like Engineering, Psychology, Communications, Food Technology etc.
Sharing her views, Prof. Bhawna Kumar, VP-RBEF proposed to jointly organize a Competition for the students of class XI and XII in order to make them aware about the partnership between Amity University and University of Queensland and the joint programmes offered by them. She suggested introducing joint Post Graduate programmes in Business Management Domain since most of the management students go abroad to pursue Post Graduation.

The delegation members visited Amity School of Engineering & Technology (ASET),Amity Institute of Food Technology (AIFT), Amity School of Communication and Amity Institute of Psychology and Allied Sciences (AIPS) and interacted with the Institutional heads and faculty members.
