ISTE Amity Chapter and Amity Institute of Technology organize Guest Lecture by Mr. Parimal Priyadarshi

ISTE Amity Chapter and Amity Institute of Technology organized a Guest Lecture on “Bridging the gap between Academia and Industry and making Industry ready Engineers” at Amity University Campus, Sector-125, Noida

Prof. (Dr.) Ravi Prakash, Head of Institute, Amity Institute of Technology welcomed the distinguished guest and provided a brief overview of ISTE professional body and how it works in India to suit the global challenges anywhere in the world.

Prof. (Dr.) K M Soni,Deputy Dean, Domain- Engineering & Technology and President-ISTE Amity Chapter discussed about the importance of “bridging the gap between Academia and Industry” and   emphasized the need of skills and internship in making industry ready engineers.

Mr. Parimal Priyadarshi, Founder, Brainstorming Labs LLP, Alumnus of IIT Kharagpur, worked in Aerospace R&D sector on complex problems involving Finite Element Analysis.He is visiting Faculty at NHCE, Bangalore.

During the lecture, he discussed about the gap between academia and industry and touched upon many important points with interesting examples like:

·        MHRD Scholarship

·        About Brainstorming Labs LLP

·        Employability of freshers in various engineering disciplines

·        Industry standards of GE

·        Employment Statistics in various fields of Engineering

·        3-D Modelling

·        Various CAD softwares used by Companies

·        Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

·        How FEA has reduced over designing

·        CFD Engineering

 

The lecture was followed by an interactive session with the students.
