2nd Global Leadership Research Conference (GLRC-2017) on the theme ‘Innovation,Sustainability & Change: Emerging Challenges and Solutions” at Amity Business School
The 2ndGlobal Leadership Research Conference was organized on 23rd – 24thFebruary 2017 by Amity Business School, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noidawith an objective to inculcate and promote research in the field of managementand provide a platform for interaction between Academia and Industry. The themeof the conference “Innovation,Sustainability and Change: Emerging Challenges and Solutions” was decidedkeeping in view the important role being played by innovation and change in thedevelopment of the industry and the challenges that such a rapid growth poses.The conference comprised of the presentation of high quality research papers infive important management tracks viz. Marketingand Retail, Finance, HR, Entrepreneurship and General Management and Computer Science & InformationTechnology.
Theconference started at 10 AM on 23rd February, with an Inaugural Ceremonyin F-2 Auditorium. Prof (Dr.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice-Chancellor AUUP and Prof (Dr.)Sanjeev Bansal, Dean FMS & Director ABS welcomed the distinguished gueststo the Inaugural Ceremony and spoke about the theme of the conference and thepreparations that have gone into its organization.
Dr.Thomas Mathew IAS, Additional Secretary to the President of India was the Guestof Honour at the Inaugural Ceremony. He kept the audience spellbound by hisevocative address on the theme of the conference.
Mr.Indranil Roy, Executive Director, Outlook Group, Mr. Rajesh Yadav, AdditionalDistrict Magistrate (Finance & Revenue), Ghaziabad, Capt. Pavan Kumar Kaul,Director Container Corporation of India Ltd. and Mr. Rahul Chakravarty,Director, FICCI delivered the keynote addresses.
AMemorandum of Understanding (MoU) was exchanged between Prof (Dr.) SanjeevBansal, Dean FMS & Director Amity Business School, Amity University UttarPradesh and Mr. Vijay Jha, Managing Editor Serials Publications.
TheInaugural Ceremony ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. Chandranshu Sinha.
Afterthe Inaugural Ceremony, a Quality Forum was held in which in-depth discussionstook place about the importance of the quality and its assurance in theorganizations. Quality Policy of Amity University and its ongoing effectivemonitoring were showcased in the Forum.
Asplanned, presentation of high quality research papers were made in following fivetracks spread over 3 sessions on 23rd and 24th Februaryheld at five different venues:
• Marketing and Retail Track
• Finance Track
• HR Track
• Entrepreneurship and General ManagementTrack
• Computer Science and InformationTechnology Track
All the sessions werechaired and coordinated by eminent researchers and executives from Academia andIndustry.
The conference concludedwith the Valedictory Session which was graced by distinguished guests fromvarious fields. Prof (Dr.) Sanjeev Bansal, Dean FMS & Director ABS gave abrief summary of the proceedings held during the conference and Prof (Dr.)Balvinder Shukla, Vice-ChancellorAUUP complemented the organizing committee and the entire team ABS forsuccessful conduct of the conference.
Mr.Deepak Bagla, Managing Director & CEO, Invest India and His Excellency AvazD. Khodjiev, Hon’ble Ambassador of Republic of Uzbekistan were the Guests ofHonour at the Valedictory Ceremony. Mr. Deepak Bagla delivered a very impactfuladdress highlighting the excellent job opportunities for the students whichvarious initiatives of the Government are going to create.
Thekeynote addresses were delivered by Mr. Anant Kishore, CEO, Indo-Rama, Mr.Prasad Gollanapalli, Managing Trustee of the GandhiKing Foundation & Secretary of SarvaSeva Sangh and Mr. Sanjay Sinha, Executive Editor, T.V. Today NetworkLtd.
The Valedictory Sessionwas wrapped up with a Vote of Thanks by Ms. Kritika Das Gupta, Head CorporateResource Center, Amity Business School.
One of the highlightsof the conference was conferment of Amity Leadership Awards on 20 eminentachievers of partner industries. While 8 of these awards were conferred duringSession 1 of Marketing and Retail Track on 23rd February, 12 awards wereconferred during the Valedictory Session held on 24th February.
Releaseof Books & Publications
The following Books andpublications were released during the Inaugural Function of
GLRC-2017:
· Abstract Book of GLRC 2017 with ISBN:978-93-86330-04-8 containing 249 abstracts were released.
· “RENVOI - Business Management Cases”– 22 Case studies which were received during Renvoi 2016 and nowconverted in the form of a book was released.
· 34th Edition of AmityBusiness Review 17 (2) and 3rd Edition of Amity Journal of Energy& Environmental Studies 2 (1) were released.
· Three books – “Rural Development andMarketing” ISBN: 978-93-86330-03-1; “Fundamental of Corporate Governance,Ethics and Outsourcing” ISBN: 978-93-86184-33-7 and “Health Care Management”, ISBN: 978-81-932345-8-7by members offaculty of ABS were released.
· Retailmagazine of ABS, Retaillier was released.
· Thefive books which are the outcome of GLRC 2016 were showcased at the inaugural.
Two Scopus IndexedJournals were also released. In these two Journals, 53 Research Papersare published and out of which 38 are from Amity:
