Amity Youth Fest concludes with the enthralling Star Performance by Singer Ankit Tiwari

Amity Youth Fest 2015 – the three day knowledge cum entertainment extravaganza concluded today with star studded performance by famous singer and composer Ankit Tiwari at Amity Grounds, University campus, Sector 125, Nioda.

 

It was a sight to remember on the last day as about tenthous and students rushed forward to get a closer look of the sensational Singer ANKIT TIWARI.  With each song the enthusiasm and excitement of the crowd escalated and became eager for more. The singer set the tune of the twilight with his hit songs including“Galliyan from Ek Villain”, “Sun Raha Hai Na Tu from Ashiqui 2”, “Punjabi Mast from Action Jackson”, his latest hit “Tu Hai ki Nai from Ro”y and many more.The entire field had transformed into a dance stadium especially the students at the back who were seen to dance their heart out. Everybody seemed to be in the mood for more fun and frolic as they displayed unique steps at the sound of the pepped up beats.

 

During the last day of the fest, student teams from 16 colleges across Delhi NCR zealously participated in Rang Raise – Folk Dance Competition.The teams showcased different cultures and heritage of various states of India including Gujarat, Maharashtra,  Punjab, Assam, Orissa and others.

 

During the second day, a Mock Parliamentary session was organized by Amity Law School Centre II wherein the participating students enacted as parliamentarians and deliberated on various issues including discussions on upcoming budget, passing of bills, raising important issues etc.The session witnessed the presence of eminent personalities as guests including Union Minister of State for External Affairs and ex-Army chief retired General V.K. Singh, MLA Bimla Matham, Mr. S B S Tyagi, Additional Commissioner, Delhi Police and Prof. (Dr.)Balvinder Shukla, Vice-Chancellor, Amity University. 

 

Addressing the gathering, General V K Singh said that Youth arethe future of the country and they should know about the workings of the Parliament. He further added that youth power can bring about positive change and mock parliaments help them to gain more knowledge about current affairs. He emphasized that such sessions are an opportunity for youngsters to share their ideas, thoughts and views regarding the political status and peaceful administration of the country.

 

During the day, the fun and frolic session got the global touch with International Artists Performed which provided a stunning amalgamation of various international cultures, heritage and values. The audience was seen cheering and applauding for amazing Russian Dance performance by Russian Cultural Centre and awestruck musical fusion by French Composer Mathias Duplessy and Sufi Singer Mukhtar Ali.

 

Artistic props, dashing costumes, sprightly moves and oodles of energy were witnessed during Oscillation – Western Dance Competition.  27 teams across India including Shri Ram College of Commerce, Symbiosis Law School, Noida, Lady Irwin College, Kamla Nehru College, Lady Sri Ram College,Amity Institute of Biotechnology, Graphic Era College, Ansal University,Maitryi College, FDDI, Motilal Nehru College, IP University, Sushant School of Arts, Zeal, Dehradun amongst others competed and showed that nothing can deter their spirit when it comes to dance. Western dance styles such as hip hop,jazz and salsa dominated the evening where the performers somersaulted, popped,glided and shook.

 

Team Zeal from Dehradun bagged the Winner Trophy with their exotic moves, while students of Northern India Engineering College were positioned as 1st Runner Up. Maharaja Agrasen College and Amity School of Engineering and Technology hada tie for the position of 2nd Runner Up.

 

During the first day of the fest, “Fashion Show – An Evening with Fashion” wherein 6 teams from various colleges across Delhi NCR including Pearl Academy of Fashion, Delhi, IMS DIA, FDDI, JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Pearl Academy, GD Goenka University, Satyam Fashion Institute, Institute of fine Arts and Institute of Home Economics vied with one another for the top spot in the competitive fashion show. The theme of the Fashion show was ‘Ethnic Elegance’ wherein the participating teams sashayed down the ramped with their traditional Indian outfits combined with contemporary touch.  The creations displayed a palette of colors including of pastel greens, pink, and cream along with mirror works. Various participating teams had used blend of different textures including silk, nets and georgettes.

 

The Chief Guest of the show was Mr. Gaurav Gupta – a renownedFashion Designer. The evening saw the presence of galaxy of eminent personalities as Guest of Honors including Mr. Amer Zakir, Stylist, Mr. Rahul, Fashion Designer, Sirali by Gunjan & Rahul; Mr. Vikrant Makkar, Fashion Designer; Ms. Deepali Mathur, CEO & Founder, Elysian Hues, Mrs. Divya Chauhan –Chairperson, Amity Institute of Fine Arts and Amity Institute of Fashion Technology and Mr. AseemChauhan – Chancellor, Amity University Rajasthan.

The fest was inaugurated by Guest of Honour Mr. S.K Saini ,Vice President, Tata Powers ltd., Mr. Atul Chauhan –Chancellor – Amity university Uttar Pradesh, Prof. (Dr.) Balvinder Shukla- Vice Chancellor – AUUP, Prof. ( Dr.) Gurinder Singh, Group Addl. Vice Chancellor,Amity, Dr. W Selvamurthy – President – Amity Science Technology and Innovation Foundation and Dr. Ravi Prakash, Chairperson, Amity Youth fest 2015.

 

During the three day fest, the packed house at Amity University reverberated with roars, whistles and thunderous applauds in various events.The three day spectacle epitomized the creativity and vigor of the quintessential spirit of Amity University and its students. The three day fest included plethora of technical as well as cultural events which showcased andassessed the multifarious talents of the youth. A wide array of events including Rhetorical Square Debate, Zeitgeist, Antarangi – Nukkad Natak Competition,Aphasia – Rock band Competition, Chess Tournament, Pixels – Photography Exhibition, TechEx 2015, Poet’s Corner, Techno Quest, Treasure Hunt, LegalDebate, Poster Making, Swaramanthan – Solo Singing Competition, Broadway andmany others. Students of more than 172 Universities, Colleges and Institutes participated in Amity Youth Fest 2015.
