16 Inspired teachers from Central Universities across the country visit Amity University, as part of “In residence” programme announced by the President of India
As part of “In residence” programme for Inspired teachers announced by the President ofIndia in the beginning of the year, 16 teachers from Central Universities across the country visited Amity University, Sector-125, Noida.
Maj. Gen. K.J. Singh-Group Vice Chancellor, Amity Universities welcomed the teachers at Amity University.
Prof. (Dr.) Gurinder Singh- Group Additional Vice Chancellor and Director General, Amity International Business School briefed the teachers about the International linkages of Amity University.
Sharing his views, one of the inspired teachers Dr. P A Sinu who teaches Ecology in Central University of Kerala appreciated the President of India for initiating such a useful programme for teachers and faculty members, outlining the importance of Higher education in the growth and development of the country. He shared that as part of the programme, the selected inspired teachers will visit Private Universities, get apprised with their academic systems and would get an opportunity to share with H E all the systems that could be adopted in Central Universities taking them a step ahead. He commended Amity University for the wide array of professional programmes offered and its latest infrastructure, which adds to the overall teaching experience it offers to the students.
Dr. (Mrs.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh highlighted the vision and innovative academic systems followed at Amity University which aim at providing totally integrated, interdisciplinary and trans-cultural education to the students.
Dr. Atiqur Rahman, Dept. of Geography, Jamia Milia Islamia, New Delhi and Faculty Coordinator thanked Amity for giving an insight about new initiatives adopted at Amity University in the field of academics, R&D, International linkages etc. He expressed his gratitude to the President of India who started the programme for teachers since similar programmes already exist for writers, artists, grass root innovators and NIT students. He expressed his hope that the inspired teachers will go back to their respective institutions and inspire the leaders of tomorrow.

Parhi from Central University of Orissa; Dr.Abodh Kumar from Central University of Bihar; Dr. Himadri Das from Central University of Assam, Silchar; Shri Ani Taggu from Rajiv Gandhi University, Itanagar; Shri Bilal Ahmad Ganai from Central University of Kashmir; Dr. Rampal Pandey from Dr. H.S. Keeping in view the importance of teachers in heralding education renaissance in India, the President of India announced this programme at the annual conference of Vice Chancellors of Central Universities on February 5, 2015.
As part of the programme, 31 inspired teachers from Universities such as Aligarh Muslim University, Assam University,Banaras Hindu University, Central University of Bihar, Central University ofGujarat and others are staying at the Rashtrapati Bhavan from June 6 to June12, 2015.
