Delegation of Afghanistan from Global Agri System and Afghan Expo Centre visits Amity University

A delegation of Global Agri System and Afghan Expo Centre, Afghainstan visited Amity University to further strengthen the ties between India and Afghanistan and to discuss the potential areas of collaboration at Amity Campus, Sector 125 Noida

The delegation comprising of five senior members including Dr. A K Agnihotri, Sr. Consultant Global Agri System; Dr B K Sikka, Technical Advisor Global Agri System; Mr. Ghulshan Sher Khan, Chairman Afghan Expo Center; Mr. Alhaj Quais Mowafaq, Advisor and Senior Director and Mr. M. E. Said, President, Afghan Expo Centre were received by Dr. Gurinder Singh, Gp. Addl. Vice Chancellor; Dr. W Selvamurthy, President, Amity Science Technology and Innovation  Foundation and senior officials of Amity University.

Addressing the gathering, Mr.Ghulshan Sher Khan said that Afghanistan Expo Centre is a private entity which has been working towards strengthening the relations between Afghanistan and India through different initiatives. He mentioned that Afghanistan has around 500 established Universities but it lags behind in terms of knowledge and capacity building. He stressed that India is a knowledge rich nation and they want to facilitate knowledge ties with India. Interacting with the Afghanistani students studying at Amity, Mr. Khan urged them to work towards the growth of Afghanistan and channelize their learning which could mutually benefit both the nations. 

During the interaction, Dr. Gurinder Singh briefed the delegation about the history and achievements of Amity University. He said that Afghanistan is a land of opportunities and private equities can do wonders by investing in various domains. He proposed to explore opportunities of partnerships in academic arena through student exchange programme,entrepreneurship development and sharing of indigenous technology. Dr. Gurinder further added that Amity University can contribute by putting forward the patent technology of Amity in Afghanistan market for commercialization which may aid in rebuilding the nation.

 The delegation was also given a tour of the Campus including Amity Incubator,various Laboratories and Central Library. Delegates were highly impressed with the standard of education and facilities offered at Amity University. They expressed their desire to initiate long term association with Amity.
