Amity University awards scholarships worth several crores to the meritorious students
At Amity, the endeavor is always to promote talent by providing opportunities for intellectual empowerment. As part of ongoing initiative of recognizing talent, Amity University organized "Scholarship Award Function", spread over two days on April 23-24, 2015 at University Campus, Sector-125, Noida.
During two days, scholarships worth several crores will be awarded to over 1235 students pursuing Undergraduate and Post Graduate Programmes.
On the first day, over 182 students received "Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan Scholarships” and 497 meritorious students “On Admission Merit Scholarships” were awarded to meritorious students by Dr. Ashok Chauhan-Founder President, Amity Group and Mr. Atul Chauhan- Chancellor, Amity University along with Dr. (Mrs.) B Shukla- Vice Chancellor, Amity University; Prof. (Dr.) Gurinder Singh- Additional - Group Vice Chancellor at Amity University; Dr. Upinder Dhar-Group Addl. Vice Chancellor, Amity University; Dr. W Selvamurthy –President, AmityScience, Technology and Innovation Foundation.
“Dr. Ashok K Chauhan Scholarships” include 100% fee waiver and are awarded to the students who secure 93% aggregate and above in Class XII or 93% aggregate and above in Class XII and 80% in Graduation.
“On Admission Merit Scholarships” include 50% fee waiver and are awarded to the students who secure 88% aggregate and above in Class XII or 93% aggregate and above in 10+2 and 75 % in Graduation.
Sharing his views and congratulating the Scholarship holders, Dr.Ashok K Chauhan- Founder President, Amity Group referred to them as “meritorious, wise and very intelligent”. He remarked that Scholarship is a huge achievement for the students not because of the monetary aspect because of the sense of pride and recognition attached to it. Sharing his dreams with the students, Dr. Chauhan said that all Amitians are groomed to become great examples of success which is possible through hard work and good values and averred that his dream of making India a “Superpower” could be fulfilled only through the success of Amitians.
Addressing the proud scholarship recipients and their parents, Mr. Atul Chauhan- Chancellor, Amity University said that Amity has always been driven by the vision of Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan to develop the next generation of leadership for organizations, communities and society at large.As a part of his vision, the Amity Scholarships were instituted to help those who are brilliant in academics and those who deserve world-class education but don’t have the means. He congratulated all the Scholarship holders and remarked that it is easy to get scholarship but difficult to maintain it since it requires lot of hard work, persistence and sacrifices. He averred that children are the dreams of their parents and it is the responsibility of the students to make their parents proud. He advised students to never rest on laurels achieved once and encouraged them to keep striving hard for success in their lives.
Sharing his experience, one of the students- Abhinav Sharma from B. Tech-Computer Science programme, who has been receiving the Scholarship for four consecutive years, said that his journey with Amity has been very enriching and empowering. Scholarship motivated him to be focused and attuned towards his goals. He thanked Amity University for acknowledging his hard work and diligent efforts and expressed his deep gratitude to the faculty and mentors for ensuring conductive environment for his overall growth and development.
Another Scholarship recipient, Ayushi Aggarwal from Computer Science Engineering Department owed her heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Ashok K Chauhan, Mr. Atul Chauhan and entire Amity fraternity for recognizing and acknowledging the meritorious students through awarding Scholarships. She remarked that Amity ensures the holistic development of the students by providing them a perfect blend of education with values and sanskaars. She thanked Amity for providing her numerous opportunities to grow and become a globally sought after professional.
Ms. Reena Bhattacharjee mother of Shivani Bhattacharjee- a first year student of B.Sc- Psychology thanked Amity profusely for instituting the merit based and means based scholarships which act as a source of great pride, inspiration,privilege and motivation for students since they earn them with their own hard work and persistence.
Mr. Aman Nathaliel- father of Mrinalini Tamanna Nathaniel, pursuing Psychology programme, expressed his joy and pride over the achievement of his daughter and stressed that scholarship means a lot to the students since it gives them a sense of pride for having achieved what very few students could achieve. He appreciated the industry aligned curriculum of Amity which catapults the overall personality of the students, paving way for students to climb corporate ladder faster and with ease.
