Amity School of Engineering and Technology organises two day annual Techno-Cultural Festival ACT’2010

Amity School of Engineering and Technology (ASET) started a two day annual Techno-Cultural Festival ACT’2010 on the theme “Emerging Drivers for Global Competitiveness” in Amity Campus, Sector-125, Noida.

The Fest was inaugurated by eminent corporate leaders like Mr. Sankariah, Chief Financial, Jubilant Organosys, Mr. Rajeev Anand, Managing Director, GoodYear, Mr. S.P.S. Bakshi, CMD (EPI), Engineering Project India Ltd., Mr. Kartik Raina, Learning Facilitator, Mr. V.S. Goindi, CMD, Goindi Industries Ltd., Dr. Balwinder Shukla-Patron “ACT’2010” & DG, ASET and Pro VC (A), Amity University, Uttar Pradesh and Maj. Gen. K. Jai. Singh, Vice Chancellor, Amity University, Uttar Pradesh.

Welcoming the august gathering and quoting the Darwin Theory Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Patron, ACT’2010 said in order to succeed and survive in today’s competitive arena, the organizations need to be the fittest in terms of entrepreneurial leadership, manufacturing, innovation and creativity and R&D, is also an important part of no matter how good the marketing. Certain core competences are important for the growth of an organization. She hoped that the students, faculties and delegates will immensely benefit from the meet.

Mr. Rajeev Anand, Managing Director, Good Year asserted that the most important mantra to succeed in life is to perform continuously and do things which others have not done. One has to be competent enough to beat others in the industry at every level. One has to be well equipped to take on the ever changing world. Speed of change in organizations should be faster than the speed of change in the world. Customers the most important part in the business. Customer’s expectation should be taken care off and quality assurance is very essential. Additional value should be given to the customers. Ability to take right decision is essential role in leadership. It’s the accountability and not the hierarchy of a person which counts in the matter of innovation and development in an organization.

Sharing his experience, Mr. S.P.S. Bakshi, CMD (EPI), Engineering Project India Ltd said, “India is playing a vital role globally. It has best of the technocrats and professionals who have built the image of India worldwide. There are some sectors in which India can contribute immensely such as nuclear sector, highway sector and IT sector that will help in the growth and development of the country. It is our young generation’s turn to sustain the growth of the country and it to a higher level. Talents are available in every nook and corner of the country. Our duty is to search it and utilize it for the good of the country.”

Mr. V.S. Goindi, CMD, Goindi Industries Ltd. asserted that to be globally competitive we have to produce goods and services which could provide better value than others. The young generation should maximize their interface with people from all strata’s of society because there are people in our society who can give business wise prudent and practical ideas but does not belong to the higher strata. Generate enough mistakes because then only you can learn when you do into unknown areas. One cannot live on borrowed technology. One has to built up own technologies. There is great potential in India and China as far as technology up gradation is concerned. Explore the unexplored areas, R&D activities will give you an edge over others. Keep your intuitions better lubricated which would bring you great dividends. Finally do not lose your freedom and try to be an entrepreneur in yourself.

Mr. Sankariah, Chief Financial, Jubilant Organosys said, “global out sourcing opportunities in India are growing at an alarming rate due to scientific research and development. To be successful in business one has to be at multi locations and then you will be in a position to be a leader on the globe.

The inauguration was followed by technical sessions on “Mantra for Corporate Competitiveness”, “Mantra for Corporate Excellence” by eminent speakers from the corporate.

Parikrama band performed in the cultural fest and singer Bally Sagoo would be performing.
