Confluence of Industry Captains from Mobile Sector during “MECON” at Amity School of Engineering and Technology
Amity School of Engineering and Technology (ASET) started a two day Mobile and Embedded Technology Conference (MECON 2010) in Amity Campus, Sector-125, Noida.
The eminent guests speakers for the interactive sessions included Guest of Honor Mr. Mark Bhasm, Managing Director, Asia Pacific BSI Group, Mr. Arabolu Venkataram, Managing Director, BSI India, Mr. Sriram T.V, VP Networks, Bharti Airtel Ltd., Mr. Arjun Mallik, Chief Technology Officer, Airtel Limited, Mr. Alok Gupta, Sr. Design Engineer, TCS and Prof. Nupur Prakash, Principle IGIT, GGSIPU
The conference was inaugurated by Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Convener, MECON, DG, ASET and Pro- V.C. (Academics), Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Maj. Gen. K. Jai Singh, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh and Lt. Gen. P.D. Bhargava, DG, AITTM.
Welcoming the august gathering Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Convener, MECON said in the inaugural function that embedded technology are used right from home appliances to medical appliances, defence purpose. Embedded technology has become part and parcel of life. She expressed her hope that the interactions and deliberations during the conference will lead to fruitful projects. The conference addressed the major issues which have brought a breakthrough in Electronics and IT industry and the latest advances in the field of communication such as WiMax, Co-operate diversity UWB, GPRS, HSCSD etc. In this conference there will be joint projects and interactive session between industry and academia.
“The tremendous technological changes that are taking place in our daily lives. Simply with the press of a button lot of complicated tasks can be performed. The technologies should be used for constructive and productive purposes and not for destructive purposes which will work for the civilization of mankind” averred Maj. Gen. K. Jai Singh,Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh while sharing his views and experiences on mobile technology.
Mr. Mark Bhasm, Managing Director, Asia Pacific BSI Group said, “The proliferation of competing devices in the area of mobile technology is tremendous. The gaming machines that are available are mind blowing. World is changing rapidly and technology is touching every aspect. These days we do not carry lot of devices because of the mobile technology. Networking facility is absolutely everywhere these days. Social networking is an old process but different devices have come out for social networking. That is due to technological development. The ways we work, interact and communicate are altogether changing. The focus of all the organizations, at present, is on innovative technologies. He said that by 2012 the business applications software will be paid subscription and licensing would not be needed. There are more phones than people.”
Mr. Sriram T.V, VP Networks, Bharti Airtel Ltd expressed his views on, “Emerging Trends in Mobile technology.” He said, “70% of India’s population is below thirty years of age. So explosion of media usage is remarkably high. Service industry is expanding and infotainment has made a break through in the life of present generation. The time line of past, present and future can be shifted. Wifi and bluetooth are the landmarks in the advancement of technologies. Wireless technology has evolved which has made our electrical gadgets mobile. It is a landmark achievement.”
Sharing his views during the occasion, Prof. Nupur Prakash, Principle IGIT, GGSIPU said, “Telecommunication business model are more customer focused. At present the customer services are faster in comparison to earlier times. There are wide applications like e-commerce, mobile services to earn more revenue. These days the value chain projects are also of prime importance. The demand of the day is to send information at the flick of a second which are fulfilled by high speed information application devices. Mobile and embedded technology are going to help people in every walk of life. Mobile technology is ushering the future towards multi-media services.
