Amity Directorate of Distance and Online Education conducts Workshop on MOOC (Massive Open Online Courses)

Amity University’s Distance andOnline Education Division conducted a Workshop on MOOC (Massive Open OnlineCourses) in association with IIT Madras and NPTEL at Amity University Campus,Sector-125, Noida

 The Workshop aimed at disseminating the informationabout National Program for Technology Enhanced Learning(NPTEL) Open OnlineCourses.

“Amity MooC courses, will soon beoffered  through SWAYAM platform which isan initiative by the HRD Ministry under Digital India campaign and thisworkshop was a prerequisite to that for the faculty and staff to get familiar withthe proposed platform.” outlined Mr. Ajit Chauhan, Vice Chairman, Amity Online.

 Prof. Andrew Thangaraj and Prof. PratapHaridoss from IIT Madras and Ms. Bharathi -Project Coordinator from NPTEL werealso present during the occasion.

NPTELproject, started in 2000, is an initiative by seven IITs and IISc for creatingfree course contents in the domain of Engineering and Science. Amity Universityalso has been continuously working towards providing free education to millionsof youth of the nation and has started Amity MOOC (www.amitymooc.com) platform,through which a bouquet of free courses are offered.

Afterthe workshop, a Question-Answer session was conducted to answer the queries of theaudience. Overall the workshop was interactive and helped everyone gain moreinsights into MOOCs.
