Amity Scientists develop Pure Herbal Colors and transfer technology for commercial use

Amity Scientists have developed 100% pure, safe and indigenous herbal colors with absolutely no synthetic or harmful additives, supporting the “Make in India” Campaign of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. These herbal colors could be used in various Industries such as Cosmetics, Toys, Paints, Pharmaceuticals, Food and other edible items.

 

This revolutionary technology of herbal colors was transferred today to a Jaipur based Company-Subh Laxmi Industries for the use of herbal colors in manufacturing of Gulal.

 

This is fourth successful technology transfer by Amity, others being – “LPG Gas Sensor”, “Herbal Mosquito Repellant” and “Iodine based Fingerprint Powder for Crime Detection”.

 

Mr. Sunil Shah and Mr. Uday Shah, the Co-Owners of Subh Laxmi Industries signed the License Agreement with Dr. B L Arya- Registrar, Amity University in the presence of Dr. W. Selvamurthy-President, Amity Science,Technology and Innovation Foundation at Amity University Campus, Sector-125,Noida

 

Subh Laxmi Industries are into manufacturing exporting and supplying various types of Coloring Products. The Company is into are Herbal Colors business for last 12 years and were looking out for replacement of synthetic colors which was fulfilled by Scientists  of Amity.

 

Addressing the gathering, Dr. W. Selvamurthy-President, Amity Science, Technology and Innovation Foundation said that Amity is emerging as a“Cradle of Innovation” and has already filed 607 patents; many of which are inthe process of being transferred to Industry. Dr. Selvamurthy averred that Amity has established a Department of Technology Transfer which is working assiduously for converting frugal innovations at Amity into beneficial products through technology transfers to various Industries.

 

Sharing her views, Dr.(Mrs.) Harsha Kharkwal- Faculty at Amity University and the Innovator of the technology said that there are many herbal colors present in the market but most of them are loaded with amines, heavy metals like Zinc, Lead and harmful salts. She shared that the Herbal colors developed by her are economical colors with longer shelf life,wide applications in industries such as Paints, Pharmaceuticals, Cosmetics and Plastics and would retain their color even when exposed to high temperatures.“The Herbal Colors indigenously developed at Amity, when used extensively in all the industries, will herald a revolution in the country, which is reeling under the pressure of products loaded with synthetic components and chemicals”,added Dr. Kharkwal

 

Dr. Harsha Kharkwal was assisted by Ms. Preeti Panthari Bahuguna-PhD. Research Scholar at Amity in this remarkable achievement.

 

Mr. Uday Shah- Co-Owner of Subh Laxmi Industries said that his company is into manufacturing of Gulal since 1992 and by completely replacing the synthetic colors with Herbal colors developed by Amity, they would be able to increase the sale of their products not only in India but also abroad in countries such as USA, Germany which have very stringent checks and regulations for importing and accepting Indian products.
