Amity School of Engineering and Technology (ASET) organizes International Conference on “Recent Developments in Control, Automation and Power Engineering (RDCAPE 2015)”

Amity School of Engineering and Technology (ASET) organized two days International Conference on “Recent Developments in Control, Automation and Power Engineering (RDCAPE 2015)” on March 12-13, 2015 at Amity Campus, Sector-125, Noida.

The valediction of the ceremony was graced by Mr. Upendra Kumar- Director, Central Electricity Authority, Ministry of Power, Government of India; Dr. Hideo Furuhashi- Professor, Information Network Engineering, Aichi Institute of Technology, Japan; Mr. D. K. Tyagi,  Jt.Director General (Utilities), Army Head Quarter, New Delhi; Dr. S N Singh-Chair Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Kanpur and Chairperson IEEE UP Section, Dr. Ashok K Chauhan- Founder President, Amity Group  and Dr. Ravi Prakash- Dean, Faculty of Science, Engineering and Technology, Amity University, Uttar Pradesh.

Dr.Ravi Prakash welcomed the distinguished gathering and provided an overview of the two days Conference which comprised of various technical sessions including “Control Theory and Applications”,“Recent Contributions in Renewable Energy Applications”, “Emerging Trends in Power systems”, “Emerging Trends in Electronics & Communication Engineering”, “Emerging Trends in Power Electronics &  Drives”,“Emerging Trends in Electronics & Communication Engineering” and “Emerging Trends in Power systems”

Dr. Ashok K Chauhan- Founder President, Amity Group, while sharing his views during the ceremony, stressed that the topic of the Conference is very apt and relevant to the industry, with important topics being discussed during the two days by experts. Dr. Chauhan remarked Control,Automation and Power Engineering are required in every field. He called upon the participants to use the knowledge gained in various sessions for achieving sustainable long term results. He announced to launch Control and Automation Engineering Knowledge Network in Amity through which professionals from Control, Automation and Power Engineering can network and share important break throughs and R&D initiatives in respective domains.

The Chief Guest, Mr. Upendra Kumar- Director, Central Electricity Authority , Ministry of Power, Government of India thanked Amity for inviting him to such an important Conference. He outlined recent developments and changes witnessed by Indian Power Sector. He stressed that India is a fastest growing economy and electricity has to grow commensurately, at the same time ensuring the affordability and quality of electricity supply sans voltage fluctuations. He shared that Union Government has been stressing on quality electricity through pragmatic planning, ensuring least adverse impact on environment. He remarked that India has to go beyond conventional sources of electricity generation and depend more on green bio mass, wind power and solar power. He revealed that atpresent, India generates 70% of the electricity from Thermal sources, 16% fromHydro, 2.2% from Nuclear and rest from Green sources. He stressed that 30% ofgreen power can be accommodated in the Grid. He congratulated Amity for successfullyorganizing RDCAPE 2015 through which participants and speakers were able todiscuss recent contributions in Renewable Energy Applications and relatedfields.

Dr. S N Singh- Chair professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Kanpur and Chairperson IEEE UP Section outlined that IEEE is the world’s largest professional association for the advancement of technology which includes various domains such as Computer Science, Material Science, Communications, Network Science and various other important fields. He shared that IEEE has a vision to be the organization of choice for communications professionals throughout the world and already has its presence in over 200 countries with UP Section being one of the 57 sections of IEEE sections in India. He expressed his hope that the knowledge gained from the deliberations of RDCAPE 2015 would have provided practical insight into the fields of Control, Automation and Power Engineering.

Dr. Hideo Furuhashi- Professor, Information Network Engineering, Aichi Institute of Technology, Japan expressed his delight in being part of RDCAPE 2015 and having research association with India and Amity.
