Transfer of technology for Herbal Mosquito Repellent at Amity University

Amity University held Transfer of technology for Herbal Mosquito Repellent to M/s Tarini Herbal Company at Amity Campus, Sector 25, Noida. 

During the occasion, Dr. W Selvamurthy, President, ASTIF said that Mosquitoes are the important vector for transmitting many pathogens and diseases such as malaria, dengue, chicken gunia etc. Prevention is always better than cure. Mosquito transmitted diseases can be to a large extent prevented by repelling mosquito from biting the host and transmitting to another person. He further added that Mosquito repellents play a significance role in this process.  She emphasized that most of these repellents are chemical based which have got its own challenges, however we has developed a herbal based mosquito repellent which is efficacious an has good fragrance.  Dr. Kanojia mentioned that It is a poly herbal preparation. 

 

M/s Tarini Herbal Company, Delhi, who is already manufacturing incense sticks Agarbatti have licensed this technology for manufacturing Mosquito Repellent sticks, primarily for rural application where electricity may not be available . The company also intends to export this product to other countries.  Amity University has agreed to handhold this small scale industry for technology absorption.
