Mr. Russell Stuart, Faculty of Forensic Science from Canberra Institute of Technology, Australia (CIT) visits Amity University

Mr. Russell Stuart, Faculty of Forensic Science from Canberra Institute of Technology, Australia (CIT) visited Amity University to mull over the potential areas of collaboration between CIT and Amity University.

Mr. Stuart was welcomed by Dr. W. Selvamurthy, President –Amity Science Technology and Innovation Foundation. He was accompanied by Mr. Amit Khaira of the Australian Trade Commission, New Delhi.

Mr. Stuart has delivered customised training to government and defence organisations all over the world through the National Centre of Forensic Studies (NCFS), including fingerprint identification workshops with the Iraqi Police Force and in Papua New Guinea and regular training validation to the Abu Dhabi Police Force. He also coordinates the delivery of the Certificate IV in Crime Scene Investigation to the Australian Defence Force, in collaboration with the Australian Defence Force Investigative Service. At CIT he teaches fingerprint science, the collection of biological material, principles of Forensics.

Dr. W. Selvamurthy briefed Mr.Stuart about Amity University, its industry oriented programmes, various R&D initiatives taken at University, the achievements of the students andfaculty members. Dr. W. Selvamurthy mooted the possibility of initiating collaboration in the area Forensic Science Programmes especially for PhD and Masters Programmes.

Mr. Stuart apprised the representatives at Amity about the industry related training Programmes and vocational programmes offered at CIT. He mooted several collaborative options,which upon due discussions and deliberation, could be worked out between both the Institutions including Student Exchange Programmes wherein Post Graduate students could pursue their dissertations in Foreign University.

Also present during the meeting were Dr. S K Sukla- Director, Amity Institute of Forensic Sciences (AIFS) and Dr. Jyoti Singh- Faculty, AIFS.

During the discussions, it was decided that CIT and Amity Institute of Forensic Sciences would exchange their respective curriculum to identify the feasibility of association in various modules
