Amity Student, Neil Mathew, Wins ‘Best Innovation in the Digital Government Category’ in the Competition Accenture Innovation Jockeys Season 3

Neil Mathew, student ofB.Tech (Computer Science Engineering +MBA), Amity University has won secondprize in ‘Accenture Innovation Jockeys Season 3’ powered by Yahoo India - Huntfor India's most innovative minds across campuses under ‘Digital Government' Awardin Innovation Category on Friday, 22th Aug, 2014 at Taj Vivanta, Bangalore. Hewas awarded for his innovation - ‘Gram Seva Kisan’, a smartphone application tohelp farmers.

The application, “Gramseva: Kisan”, retrieves mandi prices ofcommodities across various markets in India, using the dataset provided by DataPortal India.  The app is aimed toempower farmers and wholesalers by effectively informing them of the currentmandi prices and serving as a decision support system related to stocking,buying or selling of agricultural produce.

The innovation by Neil was selected from among 1300 entriesin the Contest with participation from across 400 colleges.
