Amity School of Information Technology organises Cisco India Networking Academy Conference and IPV6 Fundamental Workshop

Amity School of Information Technology and Cisco India Networking jointly organized Cisco India Networking Academy Conference and IPV6 Fundamental Workshop at Amity University Campus, Sector-125 Noida. The objective of Conference-cum-workshop was to impart awareness on the Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPV6).

The conference was inaugurated by Mr. Markus Schwertel, RegionalManager, SIG-APAC – Cisco Systems, Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Acting ViceChancellor – Amity University and Dr. Sunil Khatri, Director – Amity Instituteof Information Technology.

Addressing the participants, Mr. Markus Schwertel, Regional Manager, SIG-APAC – Cisco System said that we are constantly in discussion with Academicians and Industries to find out what they want from industry. We are conducting Skill Development program in 24 countries across Asia Pacific Region in which 7,80,000 students are getting trained through 900 academic institutions. Mr. Schwertel said that there is wide gap in urban and rural digital literacy ratio and to bridge the gap we are running rural digital literacy program in India. Around 2155 girls are getting trainedat our 82 centres in India.

Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Acting Vice Chancellor –Amity University said that the relations between Amity and Cisco is very deepand long. Dr. Shukla said that the Information Technology is not an isolated field and IT & Communication are totally interconnected in their functioning and advancement. The development of IT is factually responsible for the development of several industries including Communication, Education etc.The tools of E-learning, online examinations, online evaluation etc are a boon to the global spread of education far and wide. Dr. Shukla added that we update our programs in every 3-4 years according to the industry demand.  We want to give our students the best possible training so that they start working from the day one of their job.

Wishing great success to the workshop Dr. Sunil Khatri, Director – Amity Institute of Information Technology hoped that this workshop cum conference will add a new dimension tothe academic chapter of the institute. Dr. Khatri further stated that the technological development is capable of adding more and more advantages to teaching –learning outcomes in future and therefore such insightful interactions between Amity and Cisco Systems will be further organized in near future also.

During the event Mr. Ananth BS, technical Manager – Cisco Networking Academy briefed the audience with the IPv6 Addressing and Sub netting and gave lecture on IPv6 Routing and ACLS. Ms. Anuradha, Program manager, SIG – Cisco System presented her talk on CCNA Routing & Switching overview. Mr. Sreevalsan M, Head ICTS, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham addressed the gathering on the topic “Academy Support Centre and New Working Model – Contacting Help Desk.
