Amitians express their gratitude during the celebration of Day of Belongingness
It is a rare sight to see thousands of Amitians coming together and raising their voice towards universal brotherhood and display sense of belongingness. Amity University observed the day of belongingness wherein thousands of students, faculty and staff members joined together Amity Noida Campus and echoed in one voice, ‘that they belong to Amity and Amity belongs to them’. The day also coincided with the birthday of Chancellor of Amity University, Mr. Atul Chauhan.
Dr. Ashok K Chauhan, Founder President – Amity Group; Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson – Amity International School; Mr. Atul Chauhan, Chancellor – Amity University Uttar Pradesh; Mr. Aseem Chauhan, Chancellor – Amity University Rajasthan, Trustees of Ritnand Balved Education Foundation, Maj. Gen K. Jai Singh, Group Vice Chancellor – Amity University; Dr. (Mrs.) Balvinder Shukla, Acting Vice Chancellor -Amity University; Senior Officials of Amity University were present during the occasion.
While appreciating the feelings of Amitians, Dr. Ashok K Chauhan, Founder President – Amity Group said that all humans have a tendency to work in group through mutual cooperation. Whether it is family, friends, co-workers or a sports team, human have a inherent desire to belong and be an important part of something greater than themselves. The emotional need to be accepted as a member of a group is known as belongingness. Dr. Chauhan said that no university in the world is like Amity where faculty and students can say that they belong to their University. The biggest strength in any body life is the acceptance of belongingness towards their fellow companions.
Mr. Atul Chauhan, Chancellor – Amity University Uttar Pradesh said that there are organizations in the world which are made up of few people who are the pillars of that organization but Amity is the only organization where every student, staff and faculty is its pillar. Mr. Chauhan said that belongingness comes when we work together, understand each other, respect emotions and value the work of others. The main reason for the success of Amity University is this very sense of belongingness which one can see in all Amitians eyes.
During the occasion, Mr. Atul Chauhan launched Amizone Mobile Portal on Amizone which is an intranet website for each Amitian through which one can update himself with current happenings at Amity, class lectures, attendance, new initiatives etc. Amity University became the first University in India to launch mobile application. It can be accessed by visiting http://m.amizone.net through any mobile phone. Amity has already launched Amizone applications for android, blackberry and Windows 8 devices.
Sharing his childhood experience, Mr. Aseem Chauhan, younger brother of Mr. Atul Chauhan and Chancellor of Amity University Rajasthan said, “everytime I looked for my brother he was around, this is belongingness; every time I needed help, I was in trouble, my brother and parents were there – this is belongingness.”
Maj. Gen K.Jai Singh, Group Vice Chancellor – Amity University said that belongingness means bonding of parents, students and faculty with Amity. Maj. Gen Singh said that we can create a new world by blending our rich culture with the modernity.
A student of Amity School of Engineering & Technology, Ms. Gitika said that Amity has provided a platform and opportunity to succeed. While displaying her gratitude towards Amity, the young student said, that seldom one gets an opportunity to thank those who have changed the life. Amity has totally transformed her life in terms of human values and behavioral science. Amity has served as building block to her character echoed Ms. Gitika.
Another student Ms. Preeti from Amity Institute of Psychology & Allied Sciences said that no one can create a society without having belongingness. Amity is an institution which nurture all the students with good character, moral values, mutual cooperation and above all to become a good human being.
Mr. Sujit from Examination Department of Amity University said that belongingness is a human emotional need and every one has a desire to belong. He said that he is with Amity University since last many years and now he considers Amity as his second home and his fellow colleagues as his relatives by whom he can share his joy and sorrow.
