The workshop witnessed truly ingenious speakers from the sectors that have experts in the managing the huge data. The workshop aimed at generating interest among academicians, practitioners and research scholars and exposing them to ground breaking opportunities that arise during processing of massive amount of data.
The one day workshop was attended by 90 external delegates from other academic institutions to name a few Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore, Punjabi University, Patiala, Delhi Technological University, Mewar University, Jaipur National University, Jaipur, Birla Institute of Technology, Noida and other institutions in and around NCR. In the inaugural ceremony, Mr. Manoranjan Mahopatra, CEO, Mahindra Comviva and Mr. Yajuvinder Singh Associate Vice President, Data Services, Impetus, shared their views on Big Data as Guests of Honor.
The first plenary session was based on Research and Future trends in Big Data. The speakers of the session were Dr. T. V. Vijay Kumar from JNU New Delhi , Mr. S. H. Abbas Mehdi, Deputy Director, STPI ,Ms. Deepa Kaul, CISO & Head of IT –IS, Sopra, Noida and Dr. Rajeev Gupta, Senior Researcher, IBM Research, New Delhi. The post lunch session was based on the latest technologies in Big Data. Mr. Himanshu Gupta from IBM Research Labs gave a tutorial on Big Data and its extension to IBM Big Insights, flooded with lots of examples and queries. Mr. Nishant Garg from Impetus delivered Hands on session on Hadoop.
In the Certificate Distribution Ceremony Mr. Rajiv Garg General Manager, ERP/Corporate System and IT, BHEL was the invited guest. He expressed his thoughts on Big Data and congratulated Amity School of Engineering & Technology for conducting workshop on a latest technology. Invited Guest for the evening, Prof.(Dr.) K. M. Soni, Deputy Director and Head, ASET and Ms. Nitasha Hasteer, Acting Head, IT Department presented the certificates to the winners of past events of Amity CSI students Branch.
