Amity Human Values Quarter concludes at Amity University
Life without human values is a ship without radar. Amity Human Values Quarter is observed every year to inculcate human values amongst the students along with academics, so that the students get wholesome education and grow up into sensible adults.
During the quarter thousands of students from various departments/institutions participated in different competitive events such as quiz, awareness campaigns, blood donation camps, seminars, lectures, etc. Eminent personalities from various fields were invited to enlighten the students on human values and ethics.
The concluding ceremony of Amity Human Values Quarter coincided with the birthday of Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity International Schools.
Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President, Amity University, while addressing the august gathering, said that the students who participated in various events organized as part of the quarter are the most privileged ones. The participation will make them good and sensible citizens.
Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity International Schools said that each and every member of the extensive Amity family is working hard to make Amity a brand name worldwide. We are lucky to be in the field of education. God has given us a golden opportunity to change the world. Without values and determination things cannot be changed in the society.
Presenting the report about the various activities organized during the quarter, Prof. R. R. Grover, Convener of Amity Human Values Quarter said, “values have been the most talked about subject in schools and colleges. Thousands of students participated in a wide range of events during the three months of the Human Values Quarter. A special photography workshop was organized for Amitasha students. Institutes like Amity Institute of Engineering and Technology, Amity School of Communication conducted largest number of activities during the quarter.” Prof. Grover presented the proceeds of Amity Insurance Cricket Cup which was a cheque of Rs. 3, 50, 000 raised for the betterment of underprivileged girl childern of Amitasha.
Vishesh Sharma, a IInd Year student of Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication while sharing his experiences during the quarter said that he got a good exposure and learnt about their dreams and aspirations of the children of lesser God. The students conducted a paper bag making workshop to discourage the use of plastic bags.
Shobhit Kalra, a third year student of B.Tech of Amity School of Engineering and Technology shared his experience of working for spastic children which helped him in understanding the problems and needs of these children. He also gave some financial assistance and distributed eatab1es to the children.
During the occasion students presented a colourful cultural extravaganza which was appreciated by one and all.
