School Students from Denmark visit Amity University to interact and understand Indian Education & Culture
A Danish delegation comprising of 28 students and 2 faculty members visited Amity University to understand the Indian culture and Education system. The students were mostly from Class 8-10 standard from different schools of Denmark like Sankt Annae Gymnasium, Copenhagen – Denmark and others.
The Delegation members were welcomed in the traditional Indian way and were delighted to see the infrastructure of Amity University. Delegation members also visited Atulasha School, an Amity initiative, for under privileged boy students wherein free education is provided – and interacted with them. Atulasha students presented English and hindi songs to welcome Danish students which reciprocated by presenting a Danish song. Delegation members also responded to the queries of Atulasha students, such as how big is Denmark? how different is the climate of Denmark in comparison to India? What is the mode of transport used in Denmark? How much time is taken to reach India from Denmark? Danish students also taught them to draw different things.
Session was followed by the interaction with students of Amity University to understand the course curriculum of different streams in graduation and post graduation level. Danish Students were briefed about courses offered by Amity University and career opportunities in Economics, International Business, Journalism and History.
Prior to the visit, Amity Education Resource Centre together with Amity International School organized International Get Together for Danish Delegation. Mr. Marthin Mikkelsen, Deputy Head of Mission – Royal Danish Embassy; Dr. Ashok K Chauhan, Founder President, Amity Group, Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson – Amity International Schools were present during the occasion.
Welcoming the young student delegation from Denmark, Dr. Ashok K Chauhan, Founder President, Amity Group said that it is very heartening to see the young students from Denmark visit Amity to learn our culture. Student exchange programs like this contribute immensely towards global education, co-operation and world peace.
Mr. Marthin Mikkelsen, Deputy Head of Mission – Royal Danish Embassy said that India has lot of diversity and is an amazing nation. There is so much to learn from Indian culture and values. Mr. Mikkelsen said that despite the geographical distance, both countries are working towards a common mission of global education. Mr. Mikkelsen said that next year 50 students will like to come to India next year for the student exchange program.
While addressing the students from Denmark and Amity International Schools, Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan said that cross country interaction is always beneficial for the overall development of student. With these types of program, one always gains knowledge about different culture, values and tradition. Dr. Chauhan also appraised that Amity students also visited Germany and Denmark last year and carried memorable experience of their visit.
During the occasion students from Sankt Annae Gymnasium, Copenhagen – Denmark and Amity International School Mayur Vihar presented a group song based on cultural equality and global peace.
Students from Amitasha - School for under privileged girl students wherein free education in provided – presented songs to cheer and welcome Danish Students.
