Amity Youth Fest concludes with the melodious and soul- stirring STAR NIGHT by Bollywood Singers, Salim and Sulaiman Merchant

Amity University organized its annual fun filled extravaganza, “Amity Youth Fest 2013 (AYF)” from March 21-23 at Amity Campus, Sector- 125, Noida.

AYF, through its vast bouquet of technical and cultural events spread over three days, provided an unparallel forum for the students to test their intellectual and artistic prowess, simultaneously opening a venue for sharing mutual experience, skills and talent in the field of culture, literary and other activities on a common platform.

Over 4000 participants from more than 250 Institutions like IIT Delhi, IIT Roorkee, BIT Mesra, Xavier Institute of Management, Delhi School of Economics, etc. participated in more than 300 events hosted by Management, Technical and Allied Domains.  Participants from renowned Corporate like HCL, Google, SAIL, Genpact also participated as teams for various corporate competitions.

Amity Youth Festival concluded with melodious and soul- stirring STAR NIGHT by Bollywood Singers, Salim and Sulaiman Merchant who entertained one and all with their several blockbuster songs starting with “E Khuda Kuch to pata tiu rahta kahan”, “Kurbaan Hua”, “Ye he Fashion Ka Jawla”, “Dance Pe Chance Maar Le”, “Shukrana” and others. The musician brothers were accompanied by two Singers- Ms. Shraddha Pandey and Mr. Abbas Joshi who added to glitterati to the evening with their songs.

The valediction ceremony was graced by Dr. Ashok K Chauhan- Founder President, Amity Group, Mr. Atul Chauhan- chancellor, Amity University, Dr. B Shukla- Acting Vice Chancellor, Amity University, Dr. Manohar Sajnani and Dr. Ajay Rana- Joint Heads, Organizing Committee, Amity Youth Festival.

During the valediction, the finalists of “RANG RAISE- Folk Dance Competition” gave their vibrant and colorful performance which was judged by choreographers, Rajan Majumdar and Farukh Siddhiqui.

The First Award in the Competition was bagged by “Nitya Group” from Amity University which presented the beautiful folk dance of Kerala, Second Prize was bagged by “Khalsa Group” from Amity Institute of Biotechnology which performed “Bhangra” and Third Prize went to the team from ITM, Gurgaon. A Special performance Award was given to the “Chakras Team” of Amity Business School which showcased the folk dance of Maharashtra.

During the second day, Actor JACKKY BHAGNANI performed “Gangnam Style” dance and promoted his recently released film “Rangrez” amongst the students. He danced with the dancers of Amity on his songs and regaled everyone with his hilarious “one liners” from the film. He applauded the warm and loud welcome accorded by the students.

The festival was inaugurated by Hon’ble Shri Harish Rawat- Union Minister for Water Resources who called youth the leaders of tomorrow who have to prove to the entire world that Indians the best. He called upon the 85 crores people belonging to middle class strata of society to take care of less privileged people and work towards the inclusive growth and development of the society. He remarked that India has not only to become educated but skilled economy, which is possible only through active contribution and participation of youth.

During the three days, a plethora of technical and cultural events took place in which students clashed wits and showcased their talents, in an endeavor to outdo and outshine their competitors. The University Campus buzzed with unrestrained entertainment, fun, zeal and action packed events.

Over 800 students with their multi- hued trendy dresses sashayed the ramp during the Fashion Show which brought out the creativity, ingenuity of the student designers.

The performances of various teams during APHESIA-Rock Band Competition, ANTARAGNI-Nukkad Natak Competition, NRITYA-ARSH- Solo Classical Dance Competition, A’BROADSWA-Theatre Dramatics, OSCILLATION- Western Dance Competition, LEAN-E-ATION-Youth Talent Competition, RANG RAISE- Folk Dance Competition, SWAR MANTHAN-Solo Singing Competition, CHOREOGRAPHY Competition, LASER SHOW left the audiences impressed and amazed by the rich talent of the budding professionals.
