Dr. Michael J. Wargovich, Professor, Department of Molecular Medicine, University of Texas Health Scientist Centre, San Antonio, USA delivers lecture at Amity Institute of Biotechnology

What we eat and how we treat our bodies on a daily basis have a very powerful effect on our health and quality of life. Although cancer can affect many different parts of the body, the foods that prevent cancer and deter cancer growth are generally the same. Fruits, vegetables, grains, and legumes all have important nutrients and other cancer-fighting substances like phytochemicals and pectin that strengthen immune function and destroy cancer-causing substances before they cause harm. Research has shown that people who eat a diet free of animal products, high in plant foods, and low in fat have a much lower risk of developing cancer. Therefore, to educate Students and Faculty of Amity about the latest research related to Cancer Amity Institute of Biotechnology organized a Lecture by Dr. Michael J. Wargovich, Professor, Department of Molecular Medicine, University of Texas Health Scientist Centre, San Antonio, USA on “How to prevent and cure Cancer using Natural Products” at Amity University, Sector-125, Noida.

During the Lecture Dr. Michael J. Wargovich said that “Incorporation of natural products like Green Tea, Garlic etc. can prevent Cancer & if it happens then the number of doses can be reduced up to a large extent” said Dr. Wargovich. He also added that phytochemicals have the potential to stimulate the immune system, Slow down the growth rate of cancer cells, Prevent DNA damage and help with DNA repair. He also suggested that eating a varied diet high in a variety of vegetables, fruits, whole grains and beans, favor brightly colored or strongly  flavored vegetables and fruits, which are often the best sources of phytochemicals can prevent from Cancer and also reduce the number of doses.
