Amity School of Communications organises Photography workshop for Amitasha students

In resonance with the concept of Amity’s HUMAN VALUES QUARTER, ASCO had initiated a movement last year where a state level photography competition on the theme of “MOTHERHOOD” was held. It was promoted in its annual national photography exhibition – PIXELS 2009.

To take this thought further team PIXELS of ASCO organized a one day photography workshop on 11th February 2010, with underprivileged girls of AMITASHA. Amitasha is an unprecedented initiative by Amity Humanity Foundation and its chairperson Dr. Amita Chauhan. This was again carried out as a part of the on-going Amity Human Values Quarter.

This Photography workshop was carried out by Mr. Amit Chawla along with the core photography team of ASCO. 50 Amitasha students from 6th, 7th & 8th standards of both Noida & Saket campuses of AMITASHA, were given basic training on use of digital cameras. After its completion the students were taken for photo tour inside the Sector 44, Noida Campus of Amity. Over 2500 pictures were shot in a time span of 6 hours all by students of AMITASHA. The event promoted education & care for girl-child through the medium of photography.

Selected photographs will be exhibited in the annual national photography exhibition “PIXELS 2010” during The Big Picture at ASCO on 18th & 19th of February 2010 at the Sector 125, Noida Campus of Amity University Uttar Pradesh.
