Amity University organises Scholarship Award Ceremony
Amity University organized its annual scholarship award ceremony to award the meritorious students from different institutions of Amity in its Noida campus.
The scholarships were awarded by Mr. Atul Chauhan, Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Maj. Gen K. Jai Singh, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Pro VC, (Academics), Amity University Uttar Pradesh and Dr. Gurinder Singh, Pro VC (I), Amity University Uttar Pradesh.
Mr. Atul Chauhan, Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh while congratulating the awardees said “we celebrate hundreds of functions. But I always look forward to this particular function. All the students present in the function are stars and make us feel proud. This is the vision of our Founder President to motivate young people to come forward to Amity University. If you see the pyramid, our students are the tip of the pyramid. You are the outstanding and shinning stars of the crowd.” He also told students to never rest on laurels, which could bring their lives to stand still. He called upon the students to always work hard while aiming for success.
Maj Gen K. Jai Singh, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh said, “This is the first step to success and achievement and the students would have to work harder to fulfill the dreams of their parents and teachers.”
Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Pro.VC, (A), Amity University Uttar Pradesh while addressing the gathering said that the scholarship were instituted by the Founder President to recognize the meritorious students right from the beginning they start their academic sojourn in the university as he wants nobody to be deprived of education due to financial constraints.
The scholarships were divided into three broad categories-Admission Scholarships, Special Scholarships and Merit Scholarship. Over 149 students were benefited by Admission Scholarships, 135 by Merit Scholarships and one student received Special Scholarship from Amity School of Biotechnology for being the all rounder.
The under graduate and post graduate students who did exceptionally well in their 10 +2 were also given due recognition in the form of 100% and 50% scholarships on the basis of their results. There were special scholarships for extra co-curricular activities. Corporate scholarships like that of Nokia were given to the students from Amity Institute of Telecom Technology and Management. Doctorate Fellowship Scholarships were given by Amity Science, Technology and Innovation Foundation for the students pursuing PhD programs.
The maximum scholarships were awarded to the department of Amity School of Engineering and Technology with seventy five students receiving the benefits under Admission Scholarships category. Forty eight students from Amity Institute of Biotechnology received scholarships under Merit Scholarships category.
Thanking the university for awarding scholarship to Chabi Jain from Amity Institute of Nano Technology, the proud father, Mr. Ravi Jain remarked that it is wonderful to see that how the achievements of students are well recognized by the university. The university has made me proud by awarding my daughter a scholarship. I thank Amity for taking care of my daughter during her stay in the university.
Mr. S.P. Vaid father of Shinavgi Vaid, BA, LLB student said that in my days private universities are very few. These days there are innumerable private universities but I chose Amity for my daughter. It’s not just academically but security wise also it is the best. Students are taken good care off and I am sure the students in future would excel.
