Amity School of Communication hosts 2 day event Travelling Players – A Journey of Taiwan Cinema
In collaboration with the Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre and Cine Darbaar, Amity School of Communication was proud to host a 2 day event Travelling Players – A Journey of Taiwan Cinema on 20 -21 Jan 2010.
The festival included a photography display titled Sublime which gave a visual glimpse of the diversity and richness of Taiwan and a Film Festival introducing students and faculty to the culture of Taiwan and its cinema. The festival was inaugurated by Prof R.K Dargan, Director, ASCO and Ms Joy Yen Director, Information Division of Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre who touched upon the shared family values, democracy, cultural heritage, and biodiversity between the two countries.
Cine Darbaar, a forum established by ex Alumnus of ASCO (Supriya Suri, Nitesh Rohit, and Anuj Malhotra) introduced and contextualized the film screenings to help the students to understand the nuances of Taiwanese cinema and the its relation with its popular culture.
