“Educational Collaboration is a major step towards establishing mutually beneficial economic relations in future between India and Taiwan” emphasized Mr. Ching Ji Wu, Minister of Education, Government of Taiwan during his visit to Amity
A high level delegation from Taiwan visited Amity University, Sector – 125, Noida, with the objective of starting mutually beneficial education exchange programmes between the two Nations India and Taiwan.
The delegation was led by Mr. Ching Ji Wu, Minister of Education, Government of Taiwan who was accompanied by over 25 distinguished members including Mr. Wen Chyi Ong, Ambassador, His Excellency, Taiwan, Mr. Wen-Tong-Lin, Minister of Education Bureau, International, Director General apart from many Presidents, Vice Presidents and senior academicians from various niche Universities of Taiwan.
During the visit, primary areas of collaboration that were identified by the delegation which included
Management, Engineering, Information Technology, Hospitality & Tourism, Agriculture, Medicine, Life Sciences, Nanotechnology, Microbiology, Clinical Science, Ecology, Environmental Studies, Marine Sciences, Actuarial Sciences, Liberal Arts and Sciences , Advanced Materials & Devices etc besides several others.
Maj. Gen K. Jai Singh, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh (AUUP) welcomed the delegation on behalf of the entire Amity family and informed “it is the commitment of nurturing quality education of the Government of Taiwan which is greatly responsible for the country’s booming progress and growth and educational collaborations between the renowned Universities of Taiwan and Amity will make a big difference to the world.”
Expressing his stern faith in the idea of educational collaboration between India and Taiwan during his visit
Mr. Ching Ji Wu informed “Education is of paramount importance for the holistic prosperity of any Nation. The Taiwan Government is popularly recognized by most countries for its dedicated endeavours towards achieving educational quality for the entire world. Taiwan inspite of being not so rich in natural resources has over the years nurtured the wealth of its human resources which is densely populated with intellectual capital. The Government of Taiwan sheerly supports education and therefore has made available large number of scholarships worth thousands of US Dollars for the overseas students. Currently there happens to be a total of 500 Indian students pursuing Doctorate and Post Doctorate level of education in the best Universities of Taiwan, primarily in the areas of Science and IT, under the sponsorship of the Government of Taiwan, which after a period of 3 more years is expected to rise to a minimum of 5000 Indian students and further a larger number in future. Emphasizing on the prospects of the idea of an educational joint venture between India and Taiwan Mr. Ching Ji said “Educational Collaboration is a major step towards establishing mutually beneficial economic relations in future between India and Taiwan. The exchange of quality students and faculty between Amity University and Universities of Taiwan will mark a bright future for both students of Amity University and students of the universities of Taiwan.”
Sharing his views on the prospects of the educational exchange between Taiwan and India
Mr. Wen Chyi Ong said “Taiwan and India can together made tremendous synergy of progress and growth in the times to come by utilizing their common strengths of value system and educational bent of mind. Building of a partnership between India and Taiwan will not only generate robust economic growth for the two countries themselves, but also for the entire world.” He further added, “The Embassy of Taiwan will assume responsibility of serving as the common bridge between the two Nations for the purpose of effective exchange of knowledge, ideas as well as resources and also will extend full support to further the development of links between India and Taiwan in every way it is capable of.”
Apprising the audience with the advantages of an overseas degree in addition to academic qualification, with respect to a possible educational alliance between Taiwan and India
Mr. Wen-Tong –Lin stated that Government of Taiwan corely believes in the intellectual acumen of the Indian brains and like always is still keen on having more and more Indian students in Universities of Taiwan and Vice Versa. Elaborating further on the merits of establishing closer economic engagement between Taiwan and India Mr. Wen-Tong mentioned “Taiwan is poised to provide more jobs in India therefore can be pivotal in helping India become a super power in the future.”
Responding to the interest of collaboration expressed by the prestigious delegation
Mr. Atul Chauhan, Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh (AUUP) said “No one can pursue the goal of holistic development with greater genuinity than the dedicated academicians themselves. Academicians and teachers spherehead the idea of nurturing excellence in knowledge and research with utmost impartiality regardless of any demarcations based on Politics, Economics or Geography to make the world a better place and resiliently engage their endeavours to intensify excellence in research and knowledge in a way that all significant or insignificant parts of the globe may benefit from the same.” “Collective efforts of Taiwan and India will bring about a phenomenal change through their intellectual capabilities and the tremendous synergy of the vision and mission of India and Taiwan will collaboratively author the educational revolution for the world,”, he added.
The Visit was followed by the felicitation of the esteemed members of the delegation by
Mr. Atul Chauhan, Maj. K. Jai Singh, Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Pro Vice Chancellor, Dr. Gurinder Singh, Pro Vice Chancellor,along with an interactive session between the students and members of the delegation and a brief round of the sprawling campus of Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Sector – 125, Noida including Amity Innovation Incubator, Laboratoraties and various other campus facilities.
