Alcatel Lucent University conducted a two day workshop on 3G Wireless technology at Amity Institute of Telecom Technology and Management on 4th & 5th April, 2011 for MBA (Telecommunication Management) and B.Tech (Electronics and Telecommunication) students of Pre final year.
Mr.Subramanyeshwar Mantha, Manager Training, Alcatel Lucent India Limited , gave a brief Introduction to the students about 3G technology and various topics such as – Introduction to Wireless Technologies, 3GPP: GSM/EGPRS, 3GPP: UMTS Introduction, 3GPP: HSDPA/HSUPA/HSPA+ and 4G Technologies & Networks were covered in this workshop.
Mr.Subramanyeshwar Mantha stated that the course has been designed to provide an understanding of the architecture, leading technologies and operations of 2G/3G wireless networks. The course explained in detail the GSM/GPRS/UMTS/HSPA/HSPA+ technologies, their Network Architecture, interfaces and each module functions.
The workshop also explained how the CS and PS call takes place in UMTS. Finally the workshop concluded with the emerging trends on wireless technologies like LTE and WiMAX.
Students have been certified post completion of the workshop by Alcatel Lucent
