AITTM Participates in South Asia’s Largest ICT Expo - Convergence India
Amity Institute of Telecom Technology and Management participated in South Asia’s Largest ICT Expo – Convergence India, an International Exhibition & Conference on Next Generation Applications and Services Empowering a billion lives, held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, during 24th to 26th March, 2011. The event was supported by the union ministries of Communications & IT and I&B along with a host of other national and international associations ensuring a continuous flow of high-profile visitors at the event. Participants from the Telecom, IT, Media & Entertainment, Green IT, Security & Surveillance, Cable, Satellite, IP Surveillance and Information Security sectors gathered to showcase innovations in
Cutting edge technologies, products and services.
The event was inaugurated on 24th March 2011 by Hon’ble Minister, Mr Sachin Pilot, Minister of State, Ministry of Communications & Information Technology, Government of India. The conference had keynote speeches, panel discussions, and session papers representing state of the art or new visions of technology.
Telecom giants like Aircel, Uninor, Huawei India, Nokia Siemens Networks India Ltd., ITI, Comba Telecom, Viom Networks, Delta Group, GTL and C-DOT were some of the participants at the international exhibition.
Opening session of conference was Chaired by Shri J.S, Sarma, Chairman TRAI, with his valuable Opening Remarks, Mr. Akhil Gupta, Dy.CEO & MD Bharti Enterprises Ltd. Gave the key note address.
The total count of eminent Speakers and Panelists went over 100 which included some very well known names from India & abroad such as Mr.Sigve Brekke, Head-Asia Telenor Asia ROH Ltd., Mr.Declan Byrne, Director Marketing, WIMAX Forum , Dr.Gunter Kleindl , Chairman ETSI Technical Committee, DECT Forum, Mr.Rajan S Mathews, Director General COAI, Dr.Gulshan Rai, Director General Cyber Laws & IT, DIT, Shri Kuldip Singh, Chairman & MD – BSNL, Mr.Ranjit Yadav, Director & Country Head – Mobile & IT Business, Samsung India, Mr.Ying Weimin, President of LTE Solution , Huawei, Mr.Gurdeep Singh, COO Aircel Ltd., and many more.
Lt. Gen. P.D. Bhargava , Director General , AITTM along with 300 Students and faculty from AITTM attended the Exhibition and got an opportunity to interact with representatives from the Industry which helped them to keep abreast with the latest technologies and innovations in the telecom world. The IIC team interacted with the industry representatives and obtained valuable leads for collaborations, placements and internship projects.
Amity put up a stall giving information about Amity University and courses being conducted at AITTM. The stall had a number of visitors from the industry with queries regarding Amity courses curriculum, admission procedures and placements.
