Blood Donation Camp and Free Eye Check up Camp organized at Amity
Amity University in association with “Indian Red Cross Society” organized a blood donation camp and Amity in association with “Fortis Escorts, Centre for Sight” organized a two day Free Eye Check up Camp at Amity University Campus, Sector 125, Noida.
Blood donation is one of the noble cause which people of all ages should understand as early as possible. There are deaths of hundreds and thousands of people every year due to lack of availability of blood on time. Blood is needed regularly for patients with diseases such as thalassemia and hemophilia. To make the students aware of the necessity of blood and to inculcate good human values Amity University conducted a blood donation camp at its Noida campus.
Amity Law School under “Forum for Legal Aid” conducted the blood donation camp in association with
Indian Red Cross Society, Delhi. 125 units of blood donated by students of Amity University during the camp

As
eyes are most the delicate part of human body and a little negligence can lead to irreparable consequences. Detection of eye related diseases at the earliest can save a person from permanent eye damage. Every year millions of people become blind due to lack of proper eye check up on time and hygiene.
In view of this
Amity School of Engineering and Technology in association with
Fortis Escorts, Centre for Sight conducted a two day Free Eye Check up Camp for all the students and members of Amity University.
Total number of registration during the first day was 250 entries for the free check up camp.
The team members of Fortis Escorts, Centre for Sight who came for the Free Eye Check up Camp were
Dr. Hema Rawat, Eye Specialist, Mr. Muktar, Ophthalmologist and Mr. Arsad, Ophthalmologist.
Free consultancy service was provided by eye specialists. Thorough manual and computer check up of eye was done in the camp. During the camp some handy and valuable tips of eye were given by the eye specialists. They are- to maintain a specific distance while watching television and working on computers, to blink eyes atleast 50 times in 5 minutes, to go for regular eye check up, not to look at the computer monitor for longer hours and to take short breaks from continuously looking at the monitor of the computer, proper hygiene to be maintained for eye as eyes are the most sensitive organ of our body, proper and balanced diet, eye exercises are essential which gives lot of relaxation to the eyes.
Maj. Gen. A.K. Jain, Additional Director, Amity School of Engineering and Technology (ASET), Prof. K.M. Soni, Deputy Director, ASET, Prof. A.K. Jairath, Deputy Director, ASET and Prof. A.L. Verma, HOD, Amity Institute of Applied Sciences were present during the Eye Check up camp.
