Amity University Presents KREATIV - Annual Fashion & Art Festival
Amity School of Fashion Technology (ASFT), Amity School of Performing Arts (ASPA) & Amity School of Fine Arts (ASFA) commenced the celebration of the two day (March 16th – 17th, 2011) annual fashion art festival ‘KREATIV’11 today to provide an exclusive platform to the students for them to uphold their hard work and talent to the spectators and veterans of Art industry in myriad forms of Applied Art, Painting and Animation at Amity University Campus, Sector – 125, Noida.
Delivering his welcome address Director Amity School of Fashion Technology (ASFT), Amity School of Fine Arts (ASFA) and Amity School of Performing Arts (ASPA), Dr. Pradeep Joshi said “KREATIV is a unique gift of opportunity for the students to disrobe the figments of their imaginations in forms of admirable pictorial reflections before the experts of the world of Art and also to innumerable others who are inclined to Aesthetics.”
Presenting her inaugural address Chairperson, ASPA, ASFA and ASFT, Mrs. Divya Chauhan said “It is genuine honor to have aboard a galaxy of eminent industry experts and living legendary representatives of Artistry during the sojourn of KREATIV ’11, to add a fillip to the blossoming talents of tomorrow who’d be blooming in the horizons of Fashion, Art, Creativity and Brand Innovation.” She added “the students eagerly wait for this time of the year to arrive wherein they can reveal their artsy best to the veterans of Art and Culture through their works.”
The enriching festival unfolded with an engrossing talk show themed on ‘Business of Fashion : India an emerging hub’ wherein Fashion & Apparel industry experts including Mr. R.C. Kesar, Director General OGTC , Ms. Anshu Man, Managing Director - Aman Atlantic Limited, New Delhi, Shri Vasdev Loond, Director – Mona Designs & Ex-president - G.E.A , Ms. Arti Singh, Sr. Marketing Manager - Shipra Mall, Mr. Altaf Hussain, HR Manager (Head HR) ITC, Mr. Ashvini Kumar, DGM-Retail, Uninor , Ms. Pratimaa Pandey, Designer, Ms. Shashi Nangia, MD. Swati Exim Pvt Ltd Mr. George Martin, Artist, Mr. Arvind Mehta, Chief Operating Officer, Gold Plus Group, Mr. Kamal Malik, Mr. Anupam Trehan, Manager - Global Indirect sourcing Bharti-Wal-Mart and various others contributed their valuable insight to the audience.
Sharing her views on ‘Business of Fashion: India an emerging hub’ with the future industry professionals Ms. Anshu Man, Managing Director - Aman Atlantic Limited, New Delhi informed “the world market is in need of improved cost competitiveness, better quality levels, strong manufacturing base and awareness of export markets.” Talking about India’s commendable grasp in understanding the international quality standards of Apparel industry she stated “India’s biggest advantage is its research and development and handwork of artisans that have led it to make new product developments. India over time has emerged as the next business destination to the overseas clients.” “The liberalization of domestic economy and the increasing integration of India with the global economy has made India – a benefitting platform for business and the Indian textile industry will grow up to $ 110 billion U.S Dollars by 2015, with export of $ 50 billion U.S Dollars” said Ms. Man during the inauguration of KREATIV’11.
During his address Mr. Ashvini Kumar, DGM-Retail, Uninor expressed his sheer delight in interacting with the students fraternity and said “It is heartening to witness that India is becoming the prime focus for international clients, the reason being its robust growth rate even during shrinking global economy. He added “there is both hope and scope in the Indian market at present and it is rather expected to improve further by many folds in the times to come for the aspiring professionals to pursue their careers. All they should ensure is the trio of right attitude, skils and knowledge to have success to chasing them.”
Interacting with the students Ms. Arti Singh, Sr. Marketing Manager - Shipra Mall, said “Fashion consciousness and brand awareness today have penetrated the lifestyles of the Indians to the extent where even toddlers are prompt in identifying themselves with the brands that offer their category of Haute couture or accessories, unlike a decade or two ago.” She added “this practically evinces the fact that fashion now has seeped into the lives of people in a deep and intense way to develop greater shopping habits in and also develop more fashion consciousness and brand awareness in them.”
The inaugural day of KREATIV ’11 was further embellished with the exotic exhibition and display work of graduating students of FINE ARTS programmes (to continue during the two days of the festival) and an Inter Institute Competition (For Apparel Design, Painting & Animation).
A talk show on “Indian Art in Global Art Scenario” by renowned artists like Ms. Sunaina Anand, Director, Art Alive Gallery, Dr. Alka Raghuvanshi, Artist, Mr. George Martin, Artist, Mr. Farhad Hussain, Artist, Ms. Neha Kripal , Director , India Art Summit, Mr. Anil Sharma,Art Director, Ms. Reshma Jaiswal, Rudra Eye Mr. Samit Das, Artist etc and a Ceremony to confer Lifetime Achievement Awards to , Padma Vibushan Dr. Sonal Mansingh (Dance), Padma Shree Ms. Anjolie Ela Menon (Art) and renowned Designer Mr. Suneet Varma (Fashion) will be the chief highlights of the final day of KREATIV 11.
The other attractions of the festival to unfold during the concluding day will include ‘NATYA-KATHA Story Telling with a difference’ by Padma Vibhushan, Dr. Sonal Mansingh, a Fashion Show & Brand Show – showcasing design collection of students and an Award ceremony wherein categories of Emerging Talent Awards (based on the Inter institute Competition) as well as Awards for Best Display/ Graduation Design Collection (for ASFT & ASFA ) will be bestowed upon.
Also present during the inaugural ceremony of KREATIV 11 were Dr. Mrs. Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity International Schools Heads of Institutions and senior faculty members of ASPA, ASFA and ASFT.
