Technical team from Alcatel lucent visit Amity Institute of Telecom Technology & Management
A Technical Team from Alcatel lucent visited AITTM on the 10th of February for a presentation on 3G and LTE. Alcatel is offering a two day instructor lead 3G Workshop for AITTM students. The workshop will also offer hands on practical training to students on the latest 3G equipments in the country.
This course will provide a very good understanding of the architecture, leading technologies and operations of 2G/3G wireless networks. The course demystifies the GSM/GPRS/UMTS/HSPA/HSPA+ technologies, their Network Architecture, interfaces, and each module functions.
The course also covers the how the CS and PS call takes place in UMTS. Finally the course concludes with emerging trends on wireless technologies like LTE and WiMAX.
After completing this course, the student will be able to:
List and classify various wireless technologies
Sketch the wireless technology landscape from 1G to 4G
Describe key features, benefits and evolution path for:
GSM/GPRS/EDGE UMTS/HSPA/HSPA+
LTE and WiMAX
Differentiate between GSM, WCDMA
Compare mobility protocols – GSM-MAP,GTP,BSSAP
Explain the wireless network operations including registration/ location, network acquisition, voice and data call setup, handovers and roaming
Explain key building blocks of 4G technologies.
The students had an interactive session with Alcatel Lucent scientists after the presentation.
