AITTM and AIATTR organize a Training Program on Data Center for PGCIL Officers

Amity Institute of Telecom Technology and Management and Amity Institute of Advanced Telecom Training and Research under the guidance of Lt.Gen.P.D. Bhargava, Director General, AITTM & Mr.Naseem Ahmad, Vice Chairman, AIATTR are organizing a three day Training Program on Data Center for PGCIL Officers.

The Inaugural session started with a welcome note by Lt.Gen.P.D. Bhargava – Director General, AITTM.

Mr.Naseem Ahmad, gave an Introduction about IDC Infrastructure, explaining in detail about Evolution of IDC infrastructure & the kind of environment which is required for the same. He mentioned that the boom of data centers came during the dot-com bubble. He further explained the Design Considerations, Challenges, Infrastructure required for IDC, Location, Merits & Demerits, Space allocation for Data centers, functional area & Main distribution area, Role of Horizontal Distribution Area, Environmental constraints, Zone distribution area and various other nuances related to cabling, efficiency, Racks, Fire Protection, Early warning systems, Access controls, Standards, Auditing, SOC2 & SOC3 Reporting.

Mr.B.B. Kale, Country Manager, Emerson Network Power India Limited, commenced his session by introducing High Precision AC. He spoke about evolution of Data Centers, highlighting Emergence of New IT Concerns, Evolution of data centers with regards to changing server paradigm and Transitions at various levels. Mr.B.B. Kale educated the audience about Data Center architecture, explaining in detail the understanding elements of optimizations, Power Consumption, how to optimize Room, Raw & Rack Cooling, Energy saving strategies and Modular cooling solutions for all.

Mr.Kale concluded his session informing the audience about intelligent controls, Next generation cooling control for IT equipment and supported his points with a relevant Case Study on CRV Versatile configuration. Lastly, he explained in brief about grid to chip technologies and expertise that keep data centers, telecom networks and business applications up and running and more energy efficient. He ended his session with a few lines on Emerson Network power enabling business critical continuity.

Mr.N.K. Mittal from Abet Consulting Engineers, took the second session of the day wherein he gave introduction to Electrical systems and various technical complexities related to UPS.

The Second and Third day sessions of this training program will be covering topics like Introduction to Fire and Security system, Introduction to Green Data System, Intoduction to disaster Management and Introduction to Remote Monitoring & Data Management Services.
