Amity Institute of Telecom Technology & Management conducts Poetry Recitation Competition-Grand Finale as a part of Human Value Quarter
As part of human values quarter, AITTM, MBA Telecom, Batch 2010-2012, organized a Poem Recitation Competition which began on 22nd February 2011and culminated on 9th March 2011 with the final round.
A notice of the Poetry competition was first circulated on 27th January and the students were invited to submit their poems till 1st February 2011.
Around 70 poems were received from students of various institutions of Amity University, Uttar Pradesh, out of which 45 entries were short listed for recitation.
The poets recited their poems in the batch of 9-10 each, starting from 22 February to 1st March 2011 and the finalists of each round were then called for final presentation on 9th March 2011.
Various eminent faculty and management members judged the event in the preliminary rounds.
The final round was held on 9th March at 3 P.M. in C-Block, FF, Room No.- 106.
Lt.Gen P.D.Bhargava welcomed the judges Prof. Sita Raman, Dr. Pachauri and Mr.Ajit Pandey.
9 students who made it to the finals were Shubhashish Banerjee(AGBS), Nupur Kashyap(ASET), Lakshay Gupta(ASET), Shweta Singal(ABS), Krishna Jenamani(B.Tech.), Devina Malhotra(ASC), Himanshu Gupta(AISS), Anant Gupta(ASCO), Pamela Massey(AIE) recited their poems on the final day.
One faculty member from Amity International Business, Mr. Ajit Pandey, also recited his poems.
The poets recited their poems on various themes of humanity which touched the audience’s soul. They tried to spread the message of peace, love and empathy among the students through their poems.
Director General, Lt.Gen.P.D. Bhargava spoke about the importance of human values and congratulated the poets on their excellent expression.
Mr. Lakshay Gupta of ASET, Devina Malhotra of ASC and Anant Gupta of ASCO were adjudged First, Second and Third respectively and were given the following books as prizes: “Wings of Fire” by APJ Abdul Kalam, “Ignited Mind” by APJ Abdul Kalam, “Mahatama Gandhi Autobiography”
