He said, “ the time has come to bring changes in our system now otherwise we won’t be able to overcome the existing problems of our nation. The most burning problem is that of corruption. There are several ways to curb corruption. One of the reason behind corruption is our legal system which is obsolete and primitive. As the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was written by the Britishers in the year 1860 which was appropriate for England as a colonial power. There is a need to amend our laws.
While speaking on prevention of corruption,
Mr. Kejriwal said, “the anti corruption bodies of the country Department of Vigilence, Central Investigation Bureau (CBI) and Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) are of no use to fight corruption as these are under the control of the ruling party. This kind of system cannot function property. Still we should not lose hope as Indians are honest, intelligent and sincere but are actually victims of a disgraceful system.
Mr. Kejriwal referred to the organization
Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAG) which brought a revolution in Hong Kong. Similarly, anti-corruption laws and anti-corruption agencies can change the entire scenario of India. The
Lok Pal Bill is conceived after in-depth analysis and research on various nations of the world. According to the Jan Lok Pal Bill, the ‘Lok Pal’ will be selected independently irrespective of the government and the political parties, the investigation of any case of corruption should be completed within a year, the punishment should be for a specific period, the lost assets should be recovered by the culprit and all will be considered equal under the eyes of law.
