“SPIN-2011” – National Conference on Advancements in Signal Processing and Integrated Networks starts at Amity University Uttar Pradesh
The two day National Conference “SPIN- 2011” by Amity School of Engineering and Technology kick started at the Amity Campus, Sector – 125, Noida.
SPIN – 2011 aims at providing a platform for academicians, research scholars, industry experts and students to discuss various emerging trends, share research results and new directions in the field of Signal Processing and Integrated Networks. The experts and speakers invited during the two day conference will dwell upon the tremendous advances in signal processing and integrated network technology, rapid evolution of smart appliances and devices, generating new challenges and problems.
The various sessions planned under SPIN – 2011 will include research paper/ poster presentations and business/ technical sessions by lead speakers from the Industry as well as Academia.

Shukla, Pro-VC (A), Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Patron, ACT 2011, DG ASET said, “The conference would greatly benefit industry professionals, researchers, faculty members and young professionals in due course of time. The content of the proceedings of the seminar will be beneficial for them to set roadmaps for their future endeavors in their respective areas.”
While delivering his key note address,
Dr. Pramod Kumar Saxena, Director-Scientific Analyst Group, DRDO spoke on the topic “Signal Processing and Secrecy”. He said, “when we when talk of signal processing we mean electronic signal processing and its handling procedures. After telegraph, mobile and internet are the break through inventions in the field of telecommunications which have become an integral part of our lives. Therefore more stress is being given to the contents that are used in the communication.” Talking about the process of transmission, he said, “mechanisms like modulation, syntax and semantics which are used in transmission are being studied to know the procedure of receiving the transmission of the messages. Secrecy and security are essential to save data from wrong people.”
While speaking on “Creating New Ways to Engage the World”,
Mr. Richard Keown, Director Training, BSI Group, London, UK said that Signal processing has become a worldwide phenomenon. Signal processing is mainly used for Space, Medicine, Commerce, Telephone, Military, Industry and Scientific purposes. Technologies are developing tremendously. The modern day mobile phone was a science fiction 20 years back. Infrastructure and innovation has transformed the world took it to the new heights of development. The paradigms shifts are taking place in the telecommunication sector. The global development in this aspect has been marvelous.
The Conference Proceedings of SPIN-2011 was released by Maj. Gen. K. Jai Singh, VC, AUUP, Dr. B. Shukla, Pro-VC-(A), AUUP and the other dignitaries present during the occasion.
