Amity Technical Placement Cell and Wipro Technologies start four days “Faculty Development Programme” for the faculty members of Amity

Amity Technical Placement Centre (ATPC), in association with Wipro Technologies is conducting five day Faculty Development Programme “Mission10X Workshop” for the faculty members of Amity Campuses across India from December 20-24, 2010 at Amity Campus, Sector- 125, Noida.

“Mission10x- New ways to teach and Learn Engineering” aims to prepare engineering professionals for a world full of challenges and ensure that students are well equipped for a dynamic, successful career through empowering the engineering faculty members with new methods of teaching.

The programme endeavors to develop learner centric mode of teaching in the faculty members so that they can promote higher levels of learning amongst the students. In this mode of teaching, the faculty takes up the role of a mentor, guide, coach, and a facilitator for learning. The learner centric approach helps faculty members to:-

1. Develop oral communication skils among the students
2. Stimulate critical thinking and helps
students clarify idea through discussions
3. Use a team approach to problem solving while maintaining individual accountability
4. Promote a positive attitude towards the subject matter
5. Build self responsibility for learning among students
6. Foster and develop interpersonal relationships
7. Build self esteem in students
8. Simulate real life situations
9. Promote Student-Faculty interaction and familiarity

During the initial one and a half days of the workshop, the trainers from WIPRO Technologies, Bangalore- Ms. Kalpana Arora and Mr. Bhuvan Sundar will cover Dale Carnegie High Impact Teaching Skils - HITS module. Next one and half days, they will cover the Cambridge module followed by two days MxLA (Mission 10x Learning Approach) session.

The Programme is being attended by 32 faculty members from Amity Campuses located in Noida, Delhi, Lucknow and Jaipur.

Amity Technical Placement Cell (ATPC) was started under the dynamic leadership of Mr. Ajay Rana , Director ATPC with the aim of guiding and helping the students to get deserving placements in the required field. ATPC provides placement assistance to the students of technical programmes of all Amity Institutions spread all over the nation.
