Kalchakra, a ballet on ethics and morals mesmerizes audience during Annual Day of Amity International School, Noida
Amity International School (AIS), Noida organized its Annual Day for Classes IX-XII at Amity Campus, Sector- 44, Noida with the theme ‘Amity Umang 2010
Prof. A.P. Kulshrestha, Director, Centre for Science and Technology of the Non-Aligned and other Developing Countries (NAM S&T Centre) Chief Guest on the ocassion in his inaugural speech said that the students are lucky enough for getting world class facilities at Amity. Therefore, they should utilize it to the fullest and built a strong career.
Mrs. Renu Singh, Principal, Amity International School, Noida, presented the Annual Report outlining the school’s achievements in academics and co-curricular activities. In her welcome speech, she stressed the importance of ‘holistic education’. She said that Amity provides an ideal platform for students to showcase their talent.
The highlight of the evening was the ballet, “Kalchakra” which delves into man’s journey down the ages of Indian history. Students from senior classes showcased their talent through the musical extravaganza. It also reflected Amity’s role in reviving the ethics and morality of modern society which is fast degenerating.
A musical rendition by the school choir named ‘Swagat Geet’ was highly appreciated by the audience. The Amity orchestra comprised of over 160 students presented a well- synchronized composition called, ‘Anhat Naad’.
Dr. Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity Group of Schools, Mr. Anand Chauhan, Vice Chairman, Ritnand Balved Education Foundation (RBEF) and Mr. Ajay Chauhan, Member, Board of RBEF graced the occasion.
Special awards for excellence in academics, science, sports, music and art were given to meritorious students.
Vedavati Vidyalaya Award for Indian Heritage and Values 2010 presented to Mayank Joneja of Class XII, Late Baljeet Shastri Award for Best All Rounder 2010 bagged by Anantdeep Singh of Class XII, The Dhananjay Mohan Cup for Innovation in Science and Creativity-2010 awarded to Bharat Ahuja of Class XII, The Europa India Foundation Cup for Distinction in Sports 2010 awarded to Arpit Goel of Class XII, The Chairperson’s Appreciation Award 2010 bagged by Sarthak Vaish of Class XII, The Betty Malkani Award for Class XII Topper 2009-10 awarded to Vasundhara Pahuja, The Supriya Sabharwal Award for Excellence in Creative Art-2010 bagged by Harpreet Pahwa of Class XII and The Sudev Best Musician Award 2010 bagged by Kriti Goel of Class XII.
