Amity School Of Engineering & Technology (ASET) Organises Corporate Forum On “Industry Expectations From Young Professionals” At Amity University Campus.

28 October 2010: Corporate Forum on “Industry Expectations from Young Professionals” was organized by Amity School of Engineering & Technology (ASET) for the third year students of B. Tech (Computer Science & Engineering) at Amity University Campus, Sector -125, Noida.

Ms. Aarti Sabharwal-Coordinator, Corporate Research Centre (CRC), ASET, welcomed Mr. Meenu Singhal, Market Access Manager, Rockwell Automation, a global provider of industrial automation, power control & information Solutions.

Mr. Singhal, in his presentation discussed on the “problem of lack of Industrial and Technical exposure resulting in higher Unemployment for engineers”. Mr. Singhal urged the students to understand the need and importance of industry training and sound technical know how. Mr. Singhal informed the students that according to the National Association of Software & Services Company’s (NASSCOM) report, 75% of engineering students in India are unemployable as the focus is more on academics and theory as a result of which the engineers are incompetent to put theories into practice. Highlighting the Employer’s expectations from the students, Mr. Singhal, said that in addition to the Technical knowledge, the employers are on a lookout for a bouquet of sklls in the professions which include analytical sklls, exposure to industrial equipments, positive attitude, ability to work in and as a team, effective communication sklls and present ability. Concluding his presentation, Mr. Singhal advised the students to identify their passion before selecting their Industry they want to enter and advised students to “Get ready for a better tomorrow, you have had best of technical knowledge , so learn to apply the same for improved productivity at a faster pace.”
