AITTM Organized a Guest Lecture & Interactive Session with Students
AITTM organized a Guest Lecture on 15th February 2011 for the final year students of MBA-Telecom Management and B.Tech.- Electronics & Telecommunications.
Mr. Siva Ramamurthy – Vice President, India Region from Genband Inc. was invited for the same. The topic for his lecture was
‘ From Marconi to Face Book’ which was an extremely exhaustive lecture comparing past present and future practices in telecom , right from WAP browsing to rich and sharing browsing concepts.
Handset architecture has undergone a revolutionary change in both hardware and software applications and opened platform. He stated the financial viability on the cost of acquiring 3G/BWA spectrum.
His vision of 3G application and technology recently launched in Turkey is likely to pick up faster than Japan’s 3G of 2001. He also stressed
the need of nature and range of applications as content will dominate the future.
OTT – over the top Telephone / Video using tiered pricing model versus flat model is likely to drive high – migrating subscribers from voice to data usage.
Traffic will grow faster than revenue as average user will spend more time on Face Book than existing practices. Presently more than 250 companies are applying Face Book applications.
In future multi platform network coupled with advertising / gaming will drive the market.
