Amity School of Engineering and Technology organized a lecture on
“Sources, Serendipity and Success in Science: The Origin of Inspiration” by was organized by Prof. Michael Sayer, Emeritus Prof., Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario, Canada at the Amity University Campus, Sector – 125, Noida.

Prof. Michael Sayer, Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Director General, Amity School of Engineering and Technology said that the students of Amity University are highly privileged to get an opportunity to listen to such an eminent scholar of physics. Amity always believes in giving global exposure to its students through eminent scholars across the globe.
Dr. Shukla informed the august gathering that
Prof. Sayer strongly believes in commercializing the technologies that are being evolved through research and students should learn from him the ways of taking the latest technologies, which are developed from laboratories to the market for commercial purposes. She further added that will look forward to the collaborative research with
Prof. Micheal Sayer.
While presenting his lecture on
‘Sources, Serendipity and Success in Science: The Origin of Inspiration’ Prof. Michael Sayer, shared essential tips of research to the students. He motivated the students to “initially recognize the fruitful areas of the selected topic of research, try to do things in a different way and to see opportunities that arise during various experiments in a research. It is significant to visualize the scientific concepts and describe them to the people correctly so that the common people will understand its significance.”
Prof. Michael Sayer stressed his areas of research includes Transition and Metal Glasses, Thin Film Ferroelectric and Bone Bio materials and Si-HA. He has explored the scientific literature and interacted with scholars from diverse interest groups.
Prof. Michael Sayer concluded his lecture by saying that government aids are important for making the projects successful. Cross countries collaboration becomes very helpful for doctoral and post doctoral students as it widens their area of study and enriches the quality of research.
