Amity School of Business organized Corporate Seminar and Intra Amity Debate Competition on the theme ‘Paradigm Shift in Marketing’ at I2-Block auditorium, Amity University, Sector-125, Noida

Paradigm shift is a notion of replacing the formal way of thinking with new and innovative thoughts. Over 50 students from Amity Business School, Biotechnology and Engineering participated in the corporate seminar and debate competition.

The eminent guest speakers present during the Corporate Seminar were the Chief Guest, Mr. A.K. Chauhan, Vice Chairman, Mahamedha, Mr. Ajoy Shah, Deputy GM, JK Tyres, Ms. Pooja Nagdev, CEO, INATURE, Mr. Ravinder Kar, Senior Manager, Mother Diary, Mr. Goldy Nagdev, CEO, Hari Darshan, Mr. Rahul Gupta, Marketing Head, CSC and Ms. Preeti Pillai, Brand Head, Future Group

While addressing the august gathering, Prof. Alka Munjal, Director, Amity School of Business said that marketing is an area which is constantly evolving. There is always a fight between costs and differentiation of product as there is too much of competition in the market. Current market scenario demands innovations. It benefits the producers as well as customers Therefore it is essential to understand the concept of learning and unlearning.It is also observed that ability to change with time makes an entrepreneur and his enterprise successful.

Mr. A.K. Chauhan, Vice Chairman, Mahamedha, Chief Guest during the occasion said that research is being carried out on the demand and supply of products, based on which the companies take their decisions. There are certain Paradigm shifts in the market which influence the business scenario to a great extent. While sharing his thoughts on paradigm shift taking place in the current business scenario, Mr. Chauhan asserted that the student should better understand the paradigms and prepare according to the need of the hour.

Mr. Ravinder Kar, Senior Manager, Mother Diary shared that customer is not just a buyer of the commodities but also affects the dynamics of the market. There are competition wars in the market which are to be handled tactfully by the companies. The corporate are spending huge amount of money to retain the customers with the new ideas, product and flavor. Marketing is based on value based process generating demand and retention of customer, transaction is relationship based which has emotional attachment. Therefore companies and their products have to connect with a customer on emotional front.

Mr. Ajoy Shah, Deputy GM, JK Tyres said over the years a lot of changes have taken place in the market Therefore, it is important to understand the importance of paradigm shift. There is always a threat in the name of technological advancement. The economic scenario is also changing constantly. In such circumstances the brands are to be made relevant. New innovations are to be made to develop and sustain growth of the companies in the market. The most important thing the companies should understand is the customers and their expectations.

In the Intra Amity Debate Competition Sumer Sher Singh and Kunal Chaudhary from BBA-Marketing & Sales (3rd yr.) were announced the Best Team, Best speaker (for the motion) went to Yasar Arabath, BBA-Marketing & Sales (1st yr) and Best speaker (Against the motion) went to Kunal Chaudhary, BBA-Marketing & Sales (3rd yr)
