Prof. Yashpal Sharma graces the Annual Day celebrations

Inspiration and motivation gave birth to “The World of Fantasy” on Friday, 18th February, 2005 at Amity International School, Noida as the Primary Annual Day commenced on a jubilant note. The comperes for the evening – Ishaan, Prathvi, Maheep and Prakriti added sugar and spice with their scintillating and flowing dialogues. The event was a showcase of the Amitian creative talent at its zenith.

The Chief Guest for the evening was the renowned scientist and academician Prof. Yashpal Sharma. Prof. Sharma was highly impressed by the hospitality at Amity. While addressing the vast gathering of parents, he said: “My two grandchildren are studying in Amity. I know how much care is taken here”.

Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson- Amity International School (AIS), Noida lit the ceremonial lamp and declared the programme open while sonorous notes of a Shloka added auspiciousness to the event. Prof. Yashpal Sharma & the Chairperson released the second issue of “CREATIKA” – the Primary School’s creative magazine, containing many natty pieces of art, poetry and prose.

The Principal, Mrs Mohina Dar warmly welcomed the guests and parents, apprising them of the school’s ethos where each child is a unique embodiment of purity, humility, benevolence and dynamism, acquiring a “complete education of a complete human being”, through a special blend of “tradition in modernity”. Meanwhile, Mrs Roopma Singh, the Headmistress, delivered the annual report in the form of a powerpoint presentation highlighting Amity’s objective of the holistic development of the child, facilitating learning by a process of inquiry.

Dr A K Chauhan, Founder President, RBEF shared his “triple excellence formula” with the main thrust of achieving excellence in excellence, especially in the various fields of education.

The evening unfurled to “Mangalam Vinayakam”, a dance choreographed by Mr Hemanta Kumar Kalita and Mr Mohan Sahoo in praise of Lord Ganesh. The Primary Choir presented a melodious song, “Jiwan ki Rahoan Mein” (composed by Mrs Usha Mankotia), highlighting the colours of life that promote peace and harmony on this planet by following the acts of non-violence and kindness.

The Grand Finale culminated in the musical dance-drama “Goopy Gayeen and Bagha Bayeen” adapted and directed by Sh. Siddhartha Mukherjee, who derived inspiration from the Bengali Screen Play, “Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne” written by Upendrakishore Roychoudhury. The rapt audience journeyed into the delightful world of fun and fantasy as innate talent of the actors held them spellbound.

As the musical fantasy unfolded, the audience encountered bizarre but friendly characters and ultimately, learnt that good always triumphs over evil.

The Chairperson, Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan gave the vote of thanks, confident that the students and teachers of Amity, Noida would always tread the blazing path to success by striving to work tirelessly for the society and the nation.

The School Song “Vidaya Dadati Vinayam” and the “National Anthem” closed the doors on yet another memorable evening that was positively a roaring success. And the applause went on unabated! Clearly, the whole experience was a feast for the senses, a treasure chest of talent and unique voyage of discovery. Kudos to the Primary School!
