Amity University confers 3,286 Degrees/ Diplomas on graduands during the final day of “10th Convocation 2014”

 Amity University organized “10th Convocation 2014” for three consecutive days from December 11 – 13 2014 at University Campus, Sector 125, Noida. During the third day over 3,286 successfully qualified Graduands of several Institutes including Amity Global Business School, Amity International Business School, Amity School of Business, Amity Business School received their UG and PG Degrees and Diplomas.

During the day, over 231 meritorious graduands received special Awards, Trophies, Medals and Salver respectively wherein 27 graduands received Best All Round Student Awards, 59 graduands were awarded with Gold Medals, 54 with Silver Medals and 36 students with Bronze Medals. 

 

Mr. Atul Chauhan- Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh declared the 10th Convocation open.

 

Dr. Balvinder Shukla- Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh welcomed the august gathering and presented a brief report of the University.

 

Blessing the graduands, Dr. Ashok K Chauhan- Founder President, Amity Group motivated the students to dream big and have confidence in themselves which will help them to reach the pinnacle of success. He shared that Amity’s environment is enthused with rich Indian values and traditions, ethics and ethos and behavioral skills, which makes students not only thorough professionals but also good human beings.

 

During the occasion, Mr. Mangu Singh, Managing Director, Delhi Metro was conferred with Honorary Doctorate Degree in Science for his distinctive accomplishments, focused directions in pursuit of excellence, strategic vision for the development of Nation and Humanity in general.

Accepting the Honorary Doctorate, Mr. Mangu Singh said, “It is my privilege to receive the Honorary Doctorate from Amity University which has been playing an important role by developing potential and talent of thousands of students who come from different parts of the world.” Sharing his views on the mission of Delhi Metro, he said that Delhi Metro has made travelling easier for the passengers by providing them comfort and safety as they enter the premises of the station. He further added that he feels contented with the realization that Metro has contributed greatly towards environment by reducing the level of carbon dioxide which leads to global warming. He advised the graduands to follow certain fundamentals both in professional and personal lives; primarily to be punctual which not only means to be on time but to utilize the time efficiently. He motivated graduands to inculcate the sense of Integrity within themselves which means good values and ethos. He urged the students to develop the sense of competency and perform with excellence in every task assigned to them.  Mr. Singh congratulated the graduands for their splendid achievements.

 

During the convocation, Dr. R. Chidambaram, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India was conferred Honorary Doctorate in Science for his excellence, determination and life long contribution to the field of Science.

 

During his acceptance speech, Dr. R. Chidambaram expressed his gratitude for the honor bestowed upon him. He commended Amity for its contribution as an innovation driven Institute. Talking about the role of Private Universities, Dr. Chidambaram said that there is a growth in the demand for higher education and research which makes brings forth the importance of the role of private universities to provide high quality education. He mentioned that India is on the path of being a developed country and urged the students to accelerate the process of making the country grow and develop. Dr. Chidambaram further added that everyone possesses talent and it is the responsibility of the individual and society as well to polish and nurture the talent.

 

During the three day Convocation, over 11,000 successfully qualified Graduands of various Programs received UG and PG Degrees, Diplomas, Trophies and Medals respectively. Over 645 meritorious graduands received special awards, Trophies, Medals and Salvers respectively. 54 graduands were awarded with “Best All Round Student award”, 185 graduands received “Gold Medals”, 180 received “Silver Medals”, 98 received “Bronze Medals”, “Corporate Awards” were given to 10 students and “127 received the Salvers”.
