Amity University Organizes the 6th International Conference (ICACCF 2023) on “Business Transformation for Sustainable Entrepreneurship and Value Creation”
Amity College of Commerce and Finance, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida organized the 6th “International Conference (ICACCF 2023) on “Business Transformation for Sustainable Entrepreneurship and Value Creation”, from 14th-15th December 2023, in hybrid mode.
Highlighting the significance of Sustainable Practices in Business, Chief Guest Dr. Ashish Chaturvedi, Head - Action for Climate and Environment, UNDP India, averred, “The imperative for business transformation towards sustainability is evident, which includes safeguarding the planet's future and ensuring the enduring success of enterprises. Today's businesses confront a dual challenge—maintaining economic viability while embracing social and environmental responsibility. In a world where businesses grapple with mounting pressure to address environmental and societal concerns, this conference stands as a beacon of knowledge, innovation, and collaboration, thereby providing an opportunity to lead transformation and discover pathways to sustainable entrepreneurship and lasting value creation.”
Delivering the Keynote address, Dr. Axel Marx, Deputy Director, Leuven Centre for Global Governance Studies, University of Leuven, Belgium, stated, “Environment, pollution, health, safety, and wages are the main challenges for sustainability. In business, challenges are always accompanied by opportunities, and therefore one should look for the opportunities hidden in those challenges. The European Commission's Regulation of Deforestation Commodities aims to control and prevent deforestation and plant trees in large numbers and traders are expected to ensure that imported items do not contribute to afforestation. “
Explaining the link between Supply Chains and Climate Change, Dr Sreejith Balasubramanian, Head, Centre for Supply Chain Excellence, Middlesex University, Dubai, opined, “In the long run, other impacts such as ozone personnel, including temperature changes, rainfall patterns, sea levels and extreme weather events, affect the economy, society and the environment. Every person is responsible for carbon emissions which are a major contributor to climate change. Therefore, if we make collective efforts now, then this rising temperature may stop at 2 to 2.5 degree Celsius or else it can reach upto 4 degree Celsius.”
Dr. Mohamed Nurullah, Department of Accounting, Finance, and Informatics, Kingston Business School, Kingston University London, said, “Businesses face the challenges of compliance with SDGs, ESG (Environment, Society and Governance), financial viability and environmental responsiveness. The convergence of the physical and cyber world has created opportunities as well as challenges for business sustainability. Therefore, skill and business development, green economy, innovation, management change and proactive strategy at the government level are extremely crucial for business sustainability, in today’s environment.”
Introducing the International Conference 2023, Dr. Sujata Khandai, Director- Amity College of Commerce and Finance, said, “The conference is crucial in the context of a rapidly changing world with escalating environmental concerns. During the two-day Conference, Technical Session on themes such as “Sustainability Reporting and Biodiversity Finance”, “Sustainable Finance”, “Sustainable Marketing”, “Sustainable Entrepreneurship” and “Sustainable Human Resource Management”, will also be organized wherein various experts, including Dr. Supriya Kaitheri, Senior Lecturer, Data Analytics, Middlesex University, Dubai, Mr. Mansingh Jaswal , Director & CEO, GenEx Logistics, India, Dr. Jones Mathew, Professor Marketing , and Head, Research, Rankings & Accreditation Great Lakes , Institute of Management, Gurugram and Ms Nancy Gupta , Founder, Papernest, India, amongst others will share their valuable insights.
