Amity University confers Honorary Professorship upon Prof. Peter Proksch, a trailblazer in Pharmaceutical Biology and Biotechnology
Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida campus conferred Honorary Professorship upon Prof. Peter Proksch, a trailblazer in Pharmaceutical Biology and Biotechnology and former Director of the Institute at the University of Dusseldorf, Germany, during the celebration of his 70th Birthday. Prof. Peter Proksch, is a renowned natural product chemist with Scopus H-index of 74 and more than 25000 citations. He has trained hundreds of natural products, marine natural product chemist at his lab in Dusseldorf University and a huge number of researchers have worked under him, from across the globe, majorly from Asia and Africa.
Delivering his acceptance speech, Prof. Peter Proksch said, “I am extremely honoured to receive the Honorary Doctorate from a prestigious institution like Amity University. I would be glad to provide my guidance and support to Amity University through my learning, knowledge and experience in this field and I wish to work closely with the faculty of the University to foster research in the area of Pharmaceutical Biology.”
Announcing the opening of Amity Centre for Marine Natural Products”, Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President, Amity Education Group extended his warm wishes to Prof. Peter Proksch on his 70th Birthday and averred to work together in the area of Pharmaceutical Biology and Biotechnology. “Dr. Proksch’s vast knowledge and rich experience will contribute immensely to the extensive research work undertaken by Amity scientists and researchers on this subject, thereby taking Amity to greater heights.”, affirmed Dr. Chauhan.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, stated, “Amity University is extremely honoured to be associated with Prof. Peter Proksch, a trailblazer in the field of Pharmaceutical Biology and Biotechnology. His valuable support and guidance will inspire the budding scientists at Amity and help them to achieve their goals.”
Sharing about her long association with Prof. Proksch, Dr. Nutan Kaushik, Director General, Amity Food and Agriculture Foundation, opined, “I have had the privilege and honour of collaborating with Prof. Peter Proksch for more than 20 years and successfully completed three bilateral projects, under his guidance. Based on my long-term association with Prof. Prosch, I was awarded DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst) Research Ambassadorship in 2010.”
On this occasion, an overview of Prof. Peter Proksch's achievements, highlighting his contribution in Scientific Research, was also presented and more than 30 Ph. D Scholars/ postdoctoral Fellow/ Collaborators of Prof. Proksch spread over across the globe participated and shared their memories and experiences of their association with Prof. Proksch.
