A Group of 30 Diaspora Youth of Indian Origin’ visit Amity University, under the “68th Know India Program”
International Affairs Division (IAD), Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida Campus, organized a one-day visit of a ‘Group of 30 Diaspora Youth of Indian Origin’ from different countries including Mauritius, Guyana, Fiji, Trinidad and Tobago, South Africa, Malaysia, Myanmar and Suriname, who are participating in the “68th Know India Program”, under the aegis of Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India (GoI). The students were accompanied by officials from Diaspora Engagement Division of the Ministry of External Affairs and the purpose of their visit was to familiarize themselves with the world class infrastructure, high quality education system and faculty of Amity.
Presenting a Brief Overview of the Amity Education Group’s presence across the world, Prof. (Dr.) Gurinder Singh, Group Vice Chancellor, Amity Universities, averred, “Amity University is extremely delighted to host 30 students from Indian diaspora under the “Know India Program”, which aims to connect the students with their motherland, inform them about the transformational changes taking place in India and provide them with an opportunity to acquaint themselves with Indian art forms, heritage, culture and history of India as well as the advancements and achievements of modern India across diverse domains, including economy, education, information technology, space science, research and innovation to name a few. The participants will engage in various sessions, which will serve as a platform to gain profound insights through meaningful interactions with field experts and specialists.”
Explaining about Amity Cross Border Program, Rear Adm. Alok Bhatnagar, Deputy Director General, International Affairs Division, Amity University, stated, “Amity Cross Border Programme includes 400 Programs under 60 disciplines including Global Study Program, Study Abroad Program and 3 Continent Program, serving as a perfect pathway to obtain a foreign degree and experience a multi-cultural campus life. In sync with NEP-2020, the Programme intends to make India a global education hub, thereby enhancing the knowledge and learning of the students and providing them with immense global exposure.”
During the visit, the students took a round of the Amity campus including Amity Happiness Center, high-tech laboratories, Central Library, ASCO Studio and Amity Innovation Incubator. In addition, various insightful sessions on topics such as “Indian Culture, Tradition and Heritage” by Dr. Anupama R, Professor, Amity International Business School (AIBS), “The India Story” by Rear Adm. Alok Bhatnagar, Deputy Director General, International Affairs Division and “Indian Film & Drama” by Mr. Naresh Sharma, Director, Amity School of Film and Drama, were also conducted for the students.
