Shri Anurag Thakur, Cabinet Minister, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, addresses Law Students during “Srijan-2023”, at Amity
Amity Law School, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida campus, organized “Srijan 2023”, a two-day Youth parliament on 26th & 27th September 2023, with the aim to throw light on the operations and functioning of a state government and international organisations and to make students aware of the functioning of the Indian Parliament. The event covered current national & international issues for which the participants were allocated to one of the four committees- Lok Sabha, Uttar Pradesh Vidhan Sabha, Human Rights Commission, G20 Summit, and Hindustan Press.
Addressing the law students of Amity, Shri Anurag Thakur , Hon’ble Cabinet Minister, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, averred, “Before the year 2014, the biggest challenge for us was to stabilizie the country since it was highly unstable and on a very shaky ground. However, under the visionary leadership of our Prime Minister, India has achieved remarkable development in every field, including sports, space science, entertainment and technology. Dwelling upon how challenges can be converted into opportunities, he cited the example of the covid crisis and stated that during the pandemic, our country not only manufactured vaccines for its own people but also provided vaccines to 150 other countries of the whole world.
Advising the students of Amity, he further added, “Youth are the biggest stakeholders of the country on whose shoulders the future of the country depends. You may want to become an educationist, a leader, a lawyer or an entrepreneur but first of all you must become a good and responsible citizen of the country who can contribute to nation building. India is the 5th largest economy in the world today and the day is not far when it will become the most developed country of the world. The most recent example was India’s G20 Presidency which was a huge success and brought laurels to the country. Recently, many law policies have been reformed including the IPC Act, Indian Evidence and CRPC Act. Earlier, the registration of magazines and publications used to take a very long time but now the the publications can be registered only in two months. More than 1500 Archaic laws have been stopped and new reforms and amendments are being made for making the judcial system more efficient.”
Speaking about the opportunities for the youth, he said, “The youth must be committed towards their country and work with unwavering commitmebnt towards nation building. Today there are a lot of opportunities for the youth of the country and they can participate in a number of initiatives starting from “cleanlisness drive” and “meri maati, mera desh” for the martyrs of the country, wherin 75,000 youth from 75 blocks will bring the clay from their places and take the pledge to serve the country, on ‘Kartavya Path. They can also work towards making India a drug-free nation. Students of Amity must come forward and share their suggestions to formulate policies for the betterment of the Indian Legal and Judiciary System. ”
Sharing his words of wisdom, Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President Amity Education Group, stated, “It is a great honour for Amity that Shri Anurag Thakur ji spared his valuable time for Amity students and is present here to share his valuable thoughts and guidance with the students. He has ignited the soul and passion of the students by motivating and inspiring them to work for the nation. Amity students are different for the students of other institutions since alongwith academics, human values are imbibed in the. We are confident that under the visionary leadership of our hon’ble Prime Minsiter, India will become a global superpower very soon and the youth has a big role to play in their country’s development.”
Speaking on the occasion, Shri. Arun Halder, Vice Chairman of National Commission for Scheduled Caste, asserted, “Students must come forward and join politics since it is one of the most significant pillars of a country which decides the future of the country and a country cannot develop without politics.” He called upon the students work passionately, with all their heart and soul so that they can become successful in all their endeavours.
Sharing her views on the occasion, Smt. Ritu Khanduri Bhushan, Hon’ble Speaker, Uttarakhand, Legislative Assembly, opined, “The New Education Policy provides the students the opportunity to study the subject of their own choice, which is a great initiative to drive diversity and inclusion of all sections of the society. India has always strongly believed in the philosophy of “Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam”, which means ‘One earth, one family’ and it was also the theme of the recently concluded G20 Summit, which was a great success. Therefore, we must treat the whole world as one family and work together for the development our country as well as other countries.”
Highlighting the significant of the Youth Parliament, Prof. (Dr.) D.K. Bandyopadhyay, Chairman, Amity Law School, said, “What can be a better end to this two-day Youth Parliament than to be graced by Shri Anurag Thakur ji whose presence has mesmerised the audience. Amity organizes various activities, events and competitions for the development of the students and this Youth Parliament has been very insightful and informative for the law students, which will enable them to become great law professionals.”
